Top 10 False Choices in Video Games
Video games provide us with the ability to undertake challenges and create change in the game world around us…at least that’s how it seems most of the time. For this list, we are focusing on moments in video games where it appears as if the player has a say on the outcome, but everything is already predetermined, causing these moments to have little to no influence on the gameplay or plot, leaving the option for a so-called ‘choice’ pointless.

The lack of choice of outcome makes some sense in Chrono Trigger. There's something going on with the Chancellor that doesn't become apparent until later in the game.
Far Cry 4 picking between siding with the male or female village leader
Personallly i think number one provides a valid choice. Will you die a proper Lord and a brave man, or will you cower and hide. On my playthrough i decided to protect my sister and although i must say that i was dissappointed i had died but i felt i made a weightful moral decision sacrificing personal safety (albeit virtual safety) to protect someone
I choose the bird
If Number 10 would be legitimate and you could lose the game if you choose wrong it would be in "Top 10 videogames which royally fucked us"
Fallou 4 should be number 1. No matter who you choose the ending is the same every time.

Helping paul actually matter a HUGE deal. If you do stick around and "die" protecting him, he's "saved" and will stay alive for the rest of the game, including unique dialogue. While if you escape he'll be dead instead.
Gotta love during Pokémon X/Y when you're asked to choose between the blue button or the red button – one will annihilate the world and one will not. It doesn't matter because the scientist activates the machines no matter which button you press. =/
The cage is best.
spec ops the line was a crazy game.
You're wrong about Chrono Trigger's trial. You get some extra stuff if you were a good guy. You will still go to jail yes, but better stuff is something that matters.
Pokemon Black and White with team Plasma
DA:O faction isn't a false choice. In the end you get a certain group depending on your choices, meaning your choice had an effect, meaning it wasn't a false choice
In Spec Ops you can shoot the snipers instead of choosing
So, a "But thou Must" situation. Like in Dragon Warrior " Does thou love me?" "No" "But thou must!"
Anderson or Udina does mater only if you didn't save the council and let them die if Udina is Councilor you do not get your SPECTRE status back in Mass Effect 2 if Anderson is Councilor you get your SPECTRE status back but he states that its more of a symbolic position than anything meaningful and with the old council dead you are seen by some NPCs as a traitor of sorts and the new council you won't even see in Mass Effect 2 because you let their predecessors die and you only see them in person in Mass Effect 3 they do have changes but minor changes none the less.
If this video is about what i think it is about. meaning the choices you make don't affect anything. then i bet the beginning of Saints row 4 when you are the POTUS and you must pick the sides of many controversial topics. those choices don't affect anything especially when the entire US infrastructure is destroyed
the trial in chrono trigger, kinda doesn't belong here. the better you do in the trial, the more rewards you get in the jail cell XD so if you were found completly guilty, you would likely get nothing, where as your prize for all not guilty's is really good.
did you mean: the entire telltale franchise
Is it just me or does the person doing the voice over sound like matpat
#1 was the reason why i stopped playing the game. Being the boy was the only good part of the game and when he was killed I just uninstalled.
They forget the end of Bioshock Infinite, where the bird or the cage serves to to point out the Elizabeth isn't Elizabeth.
Assassins creed 3 ending
Giving BIOSHOCK too much credit about symbolism and choice? Have you played those games?
