I usually check if a box is a mimic simply by looking at the chain
Don't hit chests before you open them! God no! You might break it and lose the goodies inside. Better to learn the difference between a legit chest and a mimic instead. its pretty obvious once you know what it is.
I kinda feel bad for killing both qeangaal and sif, so much feels on their story (sorry if I spelled it wrong)
be patient unless you're playing bloodborne in this case be agressive xd
Actually, you SHOULD kill merchants but only BEFORE starting a NG+ as they will drop their ashes for unique equipment or special items / trinkets that are otherwise unobtainable by any other means.
Also, dont hit chests in DaS 2 because they can potentially break. Instead, if the chest is either breathing or if its chain is stretched out, then it's a Mimic. If you dont see any teeth or breathing or if the chain is not pointing toward your character – you're safe to open it.
Also note that ALL stats are hardcapped at about 50 – 60. You can level beyond that, but anything over the hardcap will have significantly reduced benefits.
BTW u don't need to hit chests before u open them as the chains are curved on a normal chest on a mimic the chain faces forward
P's in dark souls 3 u can see mimics breathing
one of them should be weapon scaling it very important
Pro tips1)play pyromancer in DKS1 but deprived in the sequels.2)become giant 3) poise is worthless after dks14)either invest in str/dex or infuse weapons, don't do both. 5)don't become jack of all trades, you will do very little damage and be very limited in equipment and spell options .
be patient cus even with all those tips u drop the only way to improve is by dying hundreds of times till you git gud filthy casuls!
darks souls is awesome.

"The soul series lets you carry around all the stuff you want." Ähm… no! Making a list on how to get started in Dark Souls with that comment would be ok, but not the entire soul series lets you do that. (Demons Souls)
If you have a problem with heights, don't play Dark Souls. You will be permanently traumatized.

I'm new to dark souls. Any time I try to get help the dark souls community is soo damn degrading, I ask for help with Vordt, don't laugh, and was called a retard before begrudgingly being told to roll into his charge and back off on p2. Those fuckers are too busy memeing instead of making the game better and more sociable.
They missed the most important tip! READ EVERY ITEM DESCRIPTION!
TIPS: research, watch videos and learn from pros, hehe
