Marco Van Basten ? Just Fontaine ?? Football not a real sport ?
Marcus Dupree (aka the best that never was)
my highschool VP had a son by the name of Travis Roy that was paralyzed some 20 or 30 seconds of his first shift at boston college that was supposed to be a phenom. Little known, but that's certainly cutting a career short
I think that Greg Moore should at least get an honorable mention. He was looking to become one of, if not the best american race car driver ever before being killed at 24, a mere one race before joining Penske, the biggest and fastest team in early 2000s CART/Indycar. Imagine Senna dying in 1987, the year before joining McLaren. It would've changed racing.
Another dumb list. Along with the top 3, Lou Gehrig, Roberto Clemente, Addie Joss, Ed Delahanty, Thurman Munson and Bill Walton belong on this list.
Van Basten
hows d rose not even mentioned like tf
Where's Prince Fielder? He would have been a hall of fame home run hitter with 500+ if he didn't have neck problems end his career. He was a fan favorite wherever he played.
Marco Van Basten!!!!!
Sean Taylor Jose Fernandez and I can name more
This lady’s voice randomly reminded me of this girl I met one time on a trip to Colorado. Her name was Julia and she wore this dark purple matte lipstick that I will always remember. It’s like the shade of it burned itself into my mind and to this day I haven’t seen a color that comes even close to matching it. Her voice was sweet and memorable more than anything, the way she said my name is something I’ll never forget. It’s like her whole existence has manifested itself into my mind. Never, will I ever forget. I was there for only 5 days but I remember when I left it felt like I was leaving behind a friend I had known for years. Being the absolute genius that I was then I let this happen. She wrote her number on a piece of paper which I put in a wallet which I suspect I left in the rental car we had. It’s in Colorado somewhere. I feel stupid for letting my mind run wild making all kinds of ridiculous assumptions of what could have happened if I had stayed there with her for some reason or if she moved here with me, or if I still had her number. Just stupid imaginary scenarios. In reality it’s probably best that my very brief relationship with her ended there. It ended perfectly and instantly leaving no room for less desirable closing acts such as a fight or a petty behind the back relationship with someone else. No time for us to lose the magical feeling of seeing one another. It is, and will always be remembered as the quick glimpse of love that it was. I don’t think I’ll ever try to find her because I would be an idiot to risk destroying the memory. Even if I did decide to take on the impossible task of finding her, I have Lilly. And I love Lilly more than I could possibly love that girl who I knew for 5 days. Knowing Lilly is living realities ten times better than any imaginable experience I could ever think I might have had with Julia. Plus who’s to say Julia hasn’t found someone by now? See, stupid malicious thoughts. A little while from now my mind will tuck that memory back away in the part of my mind that holds sweet memories like the trip to Colorado. Maybe 3 years from now I’ll see something stupid and obscure like a colorful pair of tennis shoes and that memory will show itself again, I don’t know. I’m just glad I have it. Some dreams aren’t worth chasing because they’ll always be better known only as dreams, sweet wonderful things that can’t get messed up by you or anything else. Why would anyone want to put something like that, something so rare and special, something so unique and beautiful, on the line? I’m not sure why I typed all of this shit, pretty lame tbh. I’m sure this will be called a copy pasta so I guess at least you don’t believe it was me who typed all this nonsense. Idk, I guess you can scour the Internet looking for wherever you believe this came from but the truth is, it came from my heart. Whatever, I have stuff to do. I hope you all have a badass next meal. Goodnight.
Lol Yao Ming is the only one I know everyone else I never heard of, plus the people are naming in the comments, never heard of them either.
