Lets face it, both CGI and Practical are great, if done properly. I've seen some real bad practical and CGI. I don't hate either, like so many haters out there do.
I am absolutely shocked that the Original Star Wars Trilogy isn't on the list at all. I seriously expected it to take #1, but after watching this, Christopher Nolan probably deserves that honor. I'm glad Lord of the Rings made the list but it wad easily #3 or maybe even 2 over Star Wars.
Melting face from Raiders of the Lost Ark, Kuato from Total Recall, everything from 2001: A Space Odyssey and all the prosthetic make-up from Guillermo del Toro movies.
very surprised EVIL DEAD didn't get a mention here. my fav is 80/90s horrors with no cgi. totally agree with #1. Thing scared th shot outta me too! and Fly! haha. still still does make me shudder. ha.
i love how the kitty cat jones watches like "mmm…okay ill just wait here..then" I wish werewolf movies were actually scary for once. And The Thing is so spooky. even today. I hated the prequel- wasn't very good and i can't remember much about it.
Your list is incomplete without that baby from 'Eraserhead' . That was such an old movie and Lynch never revealed how the hell he achieved those practical effects with baby and head etc.
悟空wwww

Videodrome has some good effects for it's time, the video cassette in the stomach…
I thought Titanic would be somewhere
in a decade cgi will escape the uncanny vally and you wont be able to tell
2:07 The man's head explode right at his side, but… no single drop of blood splashed on him…
I would love to be a director, and I adore practical effects! I think they not only add realism, but can also be more engaging!
日本人おるか?

Imagine an iron man suit up scene with practical effects.
I wondered is 10 the best or is 1 the best or it's just in random order?

The Thing is still one of the best movies ever made. The practical effect have stood the test of time.
I thinks jurassic Park better than jurassic world
That fucking part from ''The Fly''. Ewwww. Made in the 80's and it still looks disgusting and very well done.
