"Pop star featuring rapper or DJ" is another cliché.
Reasons why I hate pop music is summarized all in this video.
You got it right with 4 chord progressions, "baby drive me crazy", and forced rhyming. Most of the rest you're just naming styles of music… How are key changes and duets cliches?
The reason these cliches come around over and over is because they are proven to work over and over, people want to hear these tropes whether they'd like to admit it or not but they want it periodically put in a new wrapper.
Yeah, fuck self empowerment, amirite?
I clicked it to watch it cause it seemed intresting but after 00:05 i went crazy for seeing britney and u saw many times in the vid and i just lost it…
This video is illogical. Like what the hell …
Finger snaps in place of a snare drum
If I hear one more song that uses "conversate" just to be able to rhyme I will scream!!! UUGGHHH!!
since when was that predator ass r kelly a rapper? just cuz he's black doesn't make him a rapper
They just lack individuality. The key change this isn't clishe though…
Another cliché is how a lot of pop songs go. There’s the first verse, the chorus, the 2nd verse, the chorus again, the bridge where everything is completely different and finally, the chorus with some additional vocals. It’s so damn annoying hearing it over and over again
Urban??? What?? Do you mean rap?
i agree with number 2 and 1 so much, just dont diss bruno mars.
Damn you guys really missed the mark with this video! I think you crossed over the line and turned into just plain haters! There are SOOOOOOO many other valid cliches you could have addressed but ur trashing break up / love songs and motivational songs?? What about all the booty popping shit and all the I’m making money talk in hip hop? Totally skipped over that
4:18 Peter Wright…
I see Ariana I click. I mean she so gorgeous
Jason Mraz had just broken up with his fiance when he wrote that album so I think it's a little unfair to put that song in here…js.
who tf is sam adams????
Awesome, seriously awesome. Great presentation. Thanks for sharing. It is very useful. Probably you should take a look at watching it from another angle here https://www.vexplode[dot]com/en/agile/top-10-pop-song-cliches/
Most classical composers had key changes in their pieces too, so I disagree with that one. I must say though, it seems like all songs these days are about club partying and sexual promiscuity. The rap interludes got old 10 years ago.
This is why I no longer listen to Pop and stick to Metal and Rock…
Ariana not Airiana hun
So pop artists can’t sing about love, heart break, clubs, sex, or anything inspiring. Well then might as well throw away the whole genre.
a.k.a shitty pop songs
That's not a fucking key change.
"sometimes autotune is used as an artistic effect shows gaga other times it is used to compensate for lack of ability *shows Rebecca black*" SHADEEE
umm I don't think you know what a key change is lmao, its not just going higher
r Kelly is not a rapper..
a duet is not a cliché..
"There's no doubt that every song about it [heartbreak] has the same melancholy feel to it…"
Uh, yes? That's the point? Honestly you might as well call the whole damn music industry a cliche at this point.
I hate auto tune it ALWAYS sounds awful
3. Having a nibba on your song
Some weird moral judgements going on here
Not a single song shown in this video was bad. They were all shit coming straight out of a bull's ass!
Why are duets and inspirational songs cliché? Lol
What about Taylor Swift, she sings about break ups and hating Katy Perry
I feel attacked
Can you guys stop saying "titular" and "titillating" when you don't need it? I hate it. Thanks.
