My god, Disney haven't had a single original idea for decades
“Dances with Wolves” itself plagiarized “Little Big Man” and “A Man Called Horse”.
Oof
How is League of Extraordinary Gentlemen even an "Honorable Mention"? It was adapted from a graphic novel.
I firmly believe in respecting copyrights but sometimes violations are not easy to confirm. The problem is that similar story lines have been told for hundreds if not thousands of years throughout the World in many cultures. Must be pretty specific similarities to be a violation.
Why wasn't "Hunger Games" on this list? I'll look for it on "10 More Movies Accused of Plagiarism".
What about The Magnificent 7? It ripped off The 7 Samurai.
What? No mention of Disney's "Atlantis" being a rip-off of the anime "Nadia"?
Walt Disney molestered me as a child wearing a Nazi uniform, now I'm hooked on Jack n crack!
I love zootopia
Like Kurasawa I make mad films. K, I don’t make films but if I did they’d have a samurai.
Many of these are just very common clichés. Nothing is very original anymore and most movies, mainly Disney, get their ideas of movies from books and plays. Like The Little Mermaid, Frozen, Hercules, Mulan, etc. come from legends and books.
Frozen! A snowman! That's from Sailor Moon
Me: Every film is plargarising each other.
Enchanted : Kate and Leopold
Bicentenial Man: Pinocchio meets The Notebook
The Lion King: Hamlet
Tangled: Anastasia
Beauty and the beast: Shrek ripped this off
Wow surprised they didn't mention frozen getting hit by another plagiarism case this time from a Spanish singer claiming they plagiarized let it go from one of his songs
Where is star wars episode 7 that ripped its own franchise off?
That should atleast deserve a number 1 spot
Avatar is actually a ripoff of princess mononoke
Screw Kimba.
I also see some Fern Gully in Avatar.
Blue Jasmine completely ripped off A streetcar named desire, yet was nominated for Best Original Screenplay.
add to the list :
black swan and perfect blue
akira and chronicle
paprika and inception
Disney has always been known to 'take' ideas from others as their own. Most of Clint Eastwood's Western movies were direct rip-offs Japanese Samurai movies of old!!
I should not be surprised that movies would try to copy other movies.
Snake…. who has an eye patch…. is he from Metal Gear?
What's next? Avatar ripped off The Last Samurai because Sully had to kill a dying warrior? Give me a break.
what about the Matrix!?!?
Notice these are all good and popular movies
coco not on the list?
Kimba the White Lion is known as Jungle Emperor in Japan and The Lion King's was originally going to be called King of the Jungle.
Pixels?
I can tell you a full-blown paragraph to how Lion King ISN'T a Kimba rip-off. -_-
Well, they do say there are only seven stories in the world.
It’s only a matter of time before people literally run out of ideas, and reuse ideas from popular movies and then be accused of stealing ideas.
Kpax is the biggest plagiarism!! A plagiarism of the movie El hombre mirando al sudeste!!
I really do believe Disney copied Kimba the white lion.
Good timing for “let it go.”
What about "Parts: the clonus Horor" & The Island.
What about the Hunger Games? I've heard that the author ripped off some Japanese version of it.
2:58 wait hol up
Avatar also has a lot similarities with the animated movie Princess Mononoke
Reservoir Dogs by Tarantino?
You know, lion king was probably more successful than kimba the white lion
Nah, Avatar was a direct copycat of Fern Gully
Cabin in the Woods was accused of plagiarism by an indie author in California who said his novel bore a lot of similarities to the story of the movie. It was dismissed five months later.
Fun fact, Disney didn't actually plageris for the Lion King. It's just a coincidence.
Pot, kettle, black..
Really…no Hunger Games? It's a blatant ripoff of Battle Royale
Also, lion King has lots of references to The Land Before Time… “cycle of life” and watching his mother in his reflection 😉
