For this list, we’re taking a look at those singers whose musical work almost completely subsists of this dramatic musical art form. So as powerful of Andrea Bocelli’s voice is, he will not be considered for this list.

top 10 most amazing tenors, both opera tenor and clasiccal crossover tenor
Where is Montserrat Caballe?
Pavarotti was #2… oh boy…
cue a GIGANTIC angry mob of Pavarotti fans who wanted him to be number one storming the comments
theirs no doubt that she is one of the greatest… but, hello! where's RENATA TEBALDI!
& DIANA DAMRAU!
& MONTSERRAT CABALLÉ
Callas!
number one should be monserrat caballe, number 2 callas
They are all mostly lip syncing
Ingeborg hallstein!!
too much voice over spoil the opera voice
Amira number 1
Maria Callas is #1 most amazing opera voice? I'm guessing most amazing because she became so famous with such a limited and off-key voice. Maria Callas had a very short period of grace in her career with the rest floating on her notoriety. It is part of musical history. Maria Callas is better than Pavarotti or Sills or Domingo or Sutherland? Never did she come close regardless of the demented fervor of her cloistered fans, unless being on pitch doesn't count.
Placido Domingo was born and raised in Spain. Only later he joined his parents in South America.
Callas and Pavarotti are unquestionable the top singers of the 20th century … one may discuss the rest of the list (all of them good singers)
Hey, where are Di Stefano, Corelli, Tebaldi, Del Monaco ? ? Careras, blah !!
no franco corelli?
we need more basses and altos tbh
Franco Corelli not even mentioned? Ridiculous.
Y'all definitely messed this one up. Pavarotti should be #1. Obviously. And Wunderlich didn't even make the top ten? Wtf…
mezzos and baritones are people too
You should change this to "Top Ten Tenors and Sopranos." No love for basses or even baritones. Kurt Moll deserves a place on this list, IMO.
This is collosal…..
I agree whit gedda, jussi andwunderlich but you put domingo and carreras………….what in top 10!!!!!!!???!!!!?????!!!!????!!!!!!????!
WHERE IS PIPPO DI STEFANO
FRANCO CORELLI
FRANCO BONISOLLI
LAURI VOLPI
MARIO DEL MONACO
SEEMS YOU DONT KNOW NOTHING ABOUT OPERA AND GREAT VOICES FROM THE PAST
WTFK? No Di Steffano? not only was he the inspiration for your #2 but he also happens to be the greatest partner your #1 ever had. In fact her most notable performances are at his side, they had a great chemistry. Please, everyone just stop this video and go listen to Giuseppe Di Steffano's "E lucevan le stelle". Or his "Firenze Sogna"
