leatherface
Ahh, I would have picked Michael Corleone over Don Vito Corleone. The iconic scene at the end of Godfather part ll, of Michael Corleone just sitting alone and thinking about the past and his sins, as the camera pans in on him is unforgettable and legendary.
RIP Christopher Reeve.
Bruce Lee???
I'm so sick of Star Wars.
leatherface, dr frank n furter
Carry…
RP mcmurphy should be #8 and push everyone below him down one. and look, we all love vader, but switch #1 and #2.
NO ROCKY HORROR? WHAT ABOUT FRANK N FURTER?? i know it wasn't popular till later but still
Not even an honorable mention of James Bond? ("Diamonds Are Forever", "Live and Let Die" "The Spy Who Loved Me" "Moonraker") 1970's films.
1. Darth Vader
2. Rocky
3. Randle Mcmurphy or The Chief
4. Regan- Exorcist
5. Superman
6. Tony Manero- Saturday Night Fever
7. Willy Wonka
8. Jaws
9. Alex Delarge
10. Travis Bickle
John cena!!!
Dirty Harry should be much higher. Should be No.2 at least.
Where's Bo Derek? Way before the Baywatch girls were jogging on the beach in slow motion there was Bo in "10".
where is dr.frank n furter???????????????????????????
Don't show Bruce Lee from Enter the Dragon in the opening if he's not part of the list!!! You could have had him @ No. 1 and kept Darth Vader's No. 1 spot for the 1980's.
John Travolta is the most legendary figure from the 70s to me
man i knew they would forget "the warriors"
WAIT! No Bo Darville (the Bandit) from "Smokey and the Bandit"? Plus, what about Tony Manero from "Saturday Night Fever"?
So we need a new golden era such as that of the 70s, damn this is one list.
Agree on the omission of Bruce Lee. I was wondering what happened to Johnny Hooker and Henry Gondorf from The Sting and Popeye Doyle from The French Connection? Michael Myers…nope he shouldn't be here.Does it bother anyone who actually lived through the 70s that a woman who can't be more than 35 speaks as if she were alive then?
why the fuck does watchmojo have Bruce Lee in the intro AND thumbnail…but they didn't even give him a place in the actual list.
yes grease is my favorite movie of all time
I don't know the guy who played dark vader
They missed Gen. Patton best picture, best actor 1970.
Okay so the Rocky Horror Picture Show came out in 1975 and none of the characters were on this list
D I S A P P O I N T M E N T
stupid
I never knew that the opening to conkers bad fur day was based of of a clock ward orange
How was mad max just an honourable mention?
Is the clockwork orange worth watching
Dirty Harry at 7??! No way…
REAL TOP 10 characters of 70's:
1.Vito Corleone
2.Travis Bickle
3.Harry Callahan
4.Michael Corleone
5.Darth Vader
6.Ellen Ripley
7.Max Rockatansky
8.Han Solo
9.Col.Kurtz
10.Rocky Balboa
I put Vader and Solo in 70's. Since ANH is original SW movie.
Do the villains from pre 70s 70s 80s 90s 2000s 2010s
Max Rockatansky should be on the list
Rocky should be one
Yassss the Darth Vader winsss!!ahaha
Norma Rae?
I knew it darth Vader is in there
Darth Vader #1 calling it!
Can't believe Willy Wonka and Danny Zuko/Sandy were only honorable mentions. I could recall them off the top of my head but not half the ones you actually gave spots on the countdown. I think you guys need to re-check your definition of "memorable".
I think out of all these lists, the 70's and the 2010s have the most iconic memorable characters imo..
And I think Leatherface should have made at LEAST an honorable mention, though Michael IS a bit more of an iconic horror character..
Yeah why was Bruce lee in the thumbnail when he's not in the countdown? what's point
Do you agree with our list? Luke: NOOOO!
Michael Myers would be higher if it were top 10 memorable horror movie characters of the 1970s
I Love Star Wars
Darth Vader is the King
Meh, this list has some flaws, but it's their best of the memorable characters lists. I'm more perplexed by the Honorable Mentions.
McMurphy is an HM, but not Nurse Ratched?
Carrie is an HM, but not Leatherface?
None of Jake Gittes, Serpico, Quint, Walter E. Kurtz nor Lee are HMs?
There are many memorable characters from the 70s. Darth Vader, Ripley, Lee, Michael Myers, Rocky Balboa, and the guy on the Godfather.
