no one ever mentions. ff mystic quest.
Definitely agree with FFVI being #1! It is true that no FF villain comes close to Kefka in the depth of character development, narrative, and distinct style. And FFVI is the one that really has deep character developments to almost the entire roster of playable (and even briefly playable) characters. And this was achieved without 3D cut scenes but in 16-bit pixels! Who can forget the coin toss of Figaro brothers, Celes' Opera Scene, and Cyan's story of redemption? FFVI forever changed how I look at RPGs.
That said, FFVII has some real complex storyline that keeps evolving, keeping you guessing just when the story would stabilize and features such rich world full of side quests. Of course, in terms of iconic star power, Sephiroth rules the entire franchise – as he's the most mentioned FF villain ever. His story, however, is a bit pedestrian. Gameplay-wise, both have it great. FFVI with stat-boosting via Espers and learning Magic. FFVII with learning magic, boosting stats via Materia, and side games.
Music-wise, I would encourage fans of FFVII to take a listen to FFVI music. It's nothing short of breathtaking. While FFVII has standouts like "Anxious Heart", "Sephiroth", and of course, "Aerith" and the main theme, FFVI has "Tina", "Johnny C Bad", "Aria", and whole slew of very memorable tunes that aren't as known due to less coverage. While on topic of music, FFIV's "Celtic Moon" (FF4 has very distinct style… with a lot of irish influence) is simply amazing gem so if you can secure a used copy do it. FFVIII also offers some stand outs like "Eyes on Me" which I actually performed at a wedding and "Ultimecia Castle"
They said Final Fantasy XIII was #10 on the Best Final Fantasy list, and a few years later, it was #10 on the Bad Games in Great Franchises.
final fantasy the first one should have been the last one
12, 8 and 13, do not belong on this list. In place of 13 should be one, in place of 12 should be V and since it's out now and all, in place of 8 should be XV. Also the list should probably be topped with Tactics, 9 and 6, in really any order, and 7 should be in the middle because it's really the most mediocre title in the franchise.
Nah it's all about FF18
Final fantasy VIII was the absolute worst. Should not have it onto this list.
my two favorite ff games are ff12 and ff7 (obviously) theywere 2 of the first games i ever played and im blessed BOTH are getting remakes:)
Yeah! FFVI is my favourite too, just because Kefka Palazzo!
Final Fantasy X is one of the greatest games ever made without a doubt.
Referring to FFXII, her name isn't actually Amalia, it's Ashe. Amalia was just the alias she used to avoid detection when you first meet her. She abandons the alias almost directly afterwards.
Idk if my opinion is valid since I've only played a hand full of games from the franchise but FFVII and FFX are my top 2. I played FF13 and I think it was mediocre at best. The game was very repetitive and boring IMO, definitely didn't deserve a top 10 slot
1. Final Fantasy 9
2. Final Fantasy 4
3. Final Fantasy 3
4. Final Fantasy 7
5. Final Fantasy 6
Honorable mentions go to:
Final Fantasy 10, Final Fantasy, Final Fantasy Tactics. And maybe Final Fantasy 5… if you think otherwise you are wronger than wrong, despite all the games being good (up until 12/13)
clicks on video
sees dislike/like ratio
ok so FF7 is #2 and FF6 is #1 got it
6 / 7 / tactics / 12 / 9 / 13!
10 is in the list because the 12yo boys today cry because of a kiss with todis / titus? maybe? wakka wakka wakka!
im not gonna argue with your list but crisis core was my favorite the story was so good
I miss turn based combat. Like if you agree!
6,9 and 10 for me are the best, and yes FF7 for me wasnt one of the best.
Fft is easily the best final fantasy to me with its multitude of jobs great battling system and of course an unforgettable story
I remember i bought ff x for ps2 knowing nothing about the series and i barely made it past the intro cause it was BORING
Are you crazy, the first ten are crap. X-2 is great tho, and so is XII. I think they are getting better and better now. Fortunately for the fans squareSoft doesn't exist anymore, otherwise there would be only pieces of crap such as IX (childish) and VI (horrendous graphics).
Leave it to Mojo to BUTCHER pronunciations
FF6 is the best. with the amount of playable characters (and indepth story about them too) and its simple yet efeectively emotional story, other FF series just can't compare.
Aeris eats Yunas' shit. Period.
Final Fantasy 13 at place #10..
Nice start, they already fucked up this list !
I think 10 was the best
final fantasy x was pretty sweet but the blitzball was not that great. When there is people guarding in front of you and you pass it backwards they somehow block the pass anyways
so you gonna mention 14 but not 11 🙁
Where the fuck is Final Fantasy 9?
IV and VI
7 is ok.
