I loved Victoria and Abdul. While the ending could have been more satisfying, I thought it was a well acted, well made film. Does it deserve an Oscar Nomination? That is debatable, I'll admit that.
The greatest snowman is the best movie I’ve ever seen. I loved it
Professor Marston and the Wonder Women should have been there too. The shape of water was not that good imo.
For wonderstruck I thought u said wonder for some reason and I was like da heck… wrong synopsis
The Greatest Showman was absolute cack, glad it's sinking
jesus christ like 2 of these are accurate, pull your finger out rather than just picking unknown's or whatever will get the biggest reaction
no ways those can win, too many white people. it's time for black and gay like 'Moonlight'
Failed Oscar Bait Movies? Does anyone go to a movie anymore not expecting it to receive any Golden Globe, Screen Actors Guild, or Academy Award nominations? It's not like the winners each year actually care who see it, just as long as they're on stage accepting a dumb trophy. If an actor does a movie in hopes to win an Oscar for it, they're doing the picture for the wrong reason. In fact, I have seen a few "Oscar approved" movies that in my personal opinion were overhyped, and lacked charisma.
Slumdog Millionaire was okay, but not worth the attention it received. I find it bizarre that a man in India living in the slums had to give out long, detailed explanations for how he did so well in his country's millionaire game show to prove he didn't cheat. REALLY?
For American Beauty, I'd say the Academy lost credibility for giving Best Picture to a movie about a middle aged man having sexual fantasies about his high school daughter's best friend. The only reason he didn't have sex with her was because she admitted to being a virgin. Otherwise, he would have had no shame in doing it.
Oscars are nothing more than liberal idiots giving themselves prizes for shit that has nothing to do with art. Your main character is black… here goes the Oscar. Is he handicaped? Even beter! Is it about feminazis? Yea sure… Who gives a fuck a movie was a total shit like Star Wars. As long as there are blacks, retards, feminazis and anti-Trump propaganda, you can be sure at least a nomination is coming…
Detroit got snubbed
THERE ARE TOO MANY FANS FOR THE GRESTEST SHOWMAN FOR IT TO BE ON THIS LIST IT WAS AMZING AND THR CRITICS DONT KNOW ANYTHING ANYMORE
Not sure you can call WONDER WHEEL Oscar-bait when its director refuses to attend the Oscars even when he wins.
Here's why Matt Damon didn't receive any Oscar nominations this year. He lost a big chunk of his liberal fan base when he openly admitted a few years ago that he was fed up with Obama's failed policies.
daaaaamn
The greatest showman had much more enjoyable songs than la la land and in genneral it was more fun to watch. And I don't think they tried to follow la la land's success since it was put in making much earlier than la la land. And you can clearly see that they went for a tottaly diferent tone. Simply it was just a musical which was realesed after la la land and I'm sure director didn't have oscars in mind, but la la land aimed for an oscar nomination before even it got realesed.
Unlike the other movies on this list, The Greatest Showman DID receive an Oscar nomination, plus it's a box office hit.
Why isn't "mother!" on this list?
Too many undeserving movies that win due to Hollywood politics or because a movie covers a sensitive issue which might make the committee select them through some pressure makes me not take these awards at all serious.
the description is wrong
I really liked the book of henry i thought it was brilliant
I loved The Greatest Showman
Imo, Fuck the Oscars!!
They are so out of touch when it comes to "good" movies, The only movies guaranteed an Oscar "nod" nowadays is if it's about the struggle of the black man and the evil that is the white man! Sry, but it's true..
Everybody knows if you want an Oscar winning movie it should preferably be in black & white (schindlers list)and feature a minority actor but preferably an actress ( The old joke-how to get a job with the new York Times? Tell them you are a black lesbian in a wheelchair) and you must overcome something horrific like say the holocaust (The Pianist) or maybe just red necks (Mississippi burning) but always always you must bash whitey along the way in any way possible and squeeze sympathy for Jews or blacks.this is always a winner.Or if you want the holy grail of Oscar chances- the Catholic church must be ripped a new one (Spotlight) it's Oscar gold.thats how you win an Oscar. simple.
DON’T DISS GREATEST SHOWMAN WHAT’S WRONG WITH U?
Hey watchmojo you know what you should do next ?? Top 2 failed YouTube channels who have scraped the bottom of the barrel because they have no more good ideas . Then it can be your channel and Logan pauls
Can you also make a list about Top 10 2017 Actors Totally Snubbed at the Oscars this year? Because so many talented people were snubbed, one of the most irritating being James McAvoy. Split was hardly Oscar-worthy, but his performance as Kevin Crumb and his personalities (especially the Beast) was INCREDIBLE and it's actually insulting to those of us who saw his performance to see that he wasn't even nominated for his tremendous work in that movie. Of course, that just goes to show why he's #6 on your list of "Top 10 Most Underrated Actors."
some of the movies in this list I loved and think they should have gotten a nomination, some I haven't watch and some were just plain awful like Downsizing…that movie was like 5 years and was so fucking boring, it didn't seem to go anywhere.
