Pokemon is NOT a good esport. it is fun, but it is not fair or balanced what-so-ever. needing to catch, train, breed for specific IVs in certain stats and needing to increase effort stats by grinding low level pokemon in game isn't fun. then you have to level them up to at least 50, or higher if you need a certain move or evolution, and then make sure the move you absolutely NEED isn't an egg move and if it is, then jump through a thousand other hoops to get the proper pokemon to breed so that way you can get the egg move eventually, while still having to get your ideal IVs.
the process of getting even 1 pokemon that is completely ideal can take hours on hours on hours. and that's before testing how well it will do against other people online!! if you need a certain hidden power, but you need all other stats to be as perfect as possible, the odds are so slim you might as well not bother. to call it an 'esport' is pushing it. it has its own little place as a competitive game sponsored by Nintendo and The Pokemon Company, but nothing outside of that. the amount of grinding just to get your ideal pokemon to test your team with is waaaaay too long compared to actual time battling and testing. if you find out that what you were thinking isn't working, then you need to get a new version of the pokemon possibly, or just an entirely different pokemon to fill the role. then you have to research, catch/breed/re-breed for egg moves/breed for nature and base stats/grind for proper EVs/level up to 50 (or higher if you need a certain move or evolution)/battle/feedback
it is waaaay too much of a process. and it should NOT be considered an esport, as other esports are almost entirely about skill, and not a fixed team matchup that you can't change once you start along with the ridiculous grind it takes just to get the proper team of 6 pokemon you need with everything to be perfect, and then on top of that get in the hours of practice necessary. in other games on this list, you can get the game, get your main character that you're good at, and practice. learn the match ups, and then learn a few other characters so if you run into a few of your problem match ups you have a backup strategy or two. it's way more about the skill and grinding the actual game to learn and practice than about spending an entire year of evolving metas where you are always behind if you aren't a top player trying to get your ideal team at any given time and then finding out the current meta wrecks your team on many levels and you have to go back to grinding the level up and breeding portion of pokemon for a few more weeks.
Call of duty better than quake? pshhhh thats funny
Smash #5 we take those bois
Thumbs down. DOTA 2 is the largest as they have such big prize pool. LOL is for kids.
leauge sucks
CoD, R6S, and CS:GO. Period.
The prize pool of dota 2 is the biggest… just a side note
Wow, every game is terrible. Call of duty is for retarded kids. The MMoB looks cool but Counter strike is so simple I can't fathom how it's considered competitive. Anyway, any game with a mouse and keyboard is not competitive. There's no skill when you can zig zag and whip your player around. Sorry guys Buy PC games are hobbies.
Clash Royale is the best game
Stupid
Im just glad a clip of rocket league was even in this video at the time it was made. Maybe when they remake this it will be on the list since it has grown incredibly fast

Reading the comments section. Is this video really about top 10 eSports and not about DOTA vs LOL?

Play LOL and learn the game. LOL is a very good game to learn the basics of DOTA. And then you switch back to the better game which is obvious.

Um, I don't know where these people get their shitty facts from, but Smash doesn't nor has it ever had the largest prize pool at the EVO championship series.
That honor typically goes to Marvel vs Capcom or Street Fighter.
While most of the games they mentioned have big eSports events an leagues, the real top ten of wouldn't include over half the games on this list.
This list should be based around the financial and turnout records of large leagues, example ESL, not online viewer polls or surveys.
