is the movie rat race based off of it's a mad, mad, mad, mad, mad world?
Blazing Saddles?
I love it's a mad mad mad mad world
No CHARADE, THE GREAT RACE, or THE RUSSIANS ARE COMING (x2)??
Dr Strangelove is my all time favourite movie. I would put the Producers in second here and Take the Money and Run should have been in the top ten. A Shot in the Dark I think is better than the Pink Panther IMO
Fantomas! You can´t possilbly ignore Louis de Funes!
I don;t know if I would call "The Graduate" a comedy. Great movie, but doesn't feel like a  comedy.
What about "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum?" That film is great!
The 60's simpler time in life. Wish it was like that again.Â
No Funny Girl?! For shame!
I got to say this is the wrost era of comedy's ever and the only good movie I know is "DR. Strangelove or How i learned to stop worrying" that's it.
A Shot in the Dark was much better than The Pink Panther.
Nutty Professor (1963) = Better version. :)
8:00 I GREW UP THINKING THAT WAS A PORNO PICTURE!!! (I WAS IN MY PUBERTY! HAHA AND WELL YOU KNOW…)
Numbers 9, 4, 3, and 2 are my favorites!
Peter Sellers and Cary Grant were kings of comedy.
This List by WatchMojo is way off base. Does this list know what a comedy is?
The Graduate is a Romance / Drama and is no more comedy than Midnight Cowboy.
And although Cult comedy can be funny they are NOT main stream BEST comedy.
A couple Items i think I would like on this List:
1.) One Two Three – James Cagney Coca Cola boss in Berlin before the Berlin Wall.
2.) Paint Your Wagon – Clint Eastwood's Musical (???) more comedic than music in the '49ers California Gold Rush Era with satirical controversial 60's love relationships.
3.) Father Goose – Cary Grant's WWII era comedy about an apathetic civilian that is forced to coast watch for allies in the Pacific on a small island, which becomes inundated with 7 children and a care taker stranded during evacuations.
4.) Glass Bottom Boat – Doris Day's Spy adventure with in the US Space Program. This is probably as fun as any Beach movie by Frankie and Annette – But i just love it and never bored from it. Just a classic mid sixties comedy with a touch of the Beatles style HELP movie in it to boot. – this last one might not really be a top 10 – but i think it is way more Comical than at least 5 movies on this 1960's current list.
Charade isnt a comedy
Unless I have the wrong decade…."Good Neighbour Sam" with Jack Lemon, Louis Nye, Edward G Robinson, etc. Loved Sellers in the Panther movies and Cook and Moore.
I could add: Those Magnificent Men in Their Flying Machines, The Great Race, After the Fox, The Wrong Box, The Russians are Coming, and many more.
well, no surprise, Peter Sellers holds 3 of the spots on this list. The man, the myth, the legend. He was pure genius.
"The Russians Are Coming, The Russians Are Coming" (1966) was one of the funniest comedies of the 1960's.
The graduate is a comedy i didnt know that
The Graduate seemed more like a drama to me. It was darkly comical at times.
No Louis de Funes' films ?
My favorite part of Dr. Strangelove was George C Scott tripping backwards while ranting -you know that was a flub that they just kept in the movie but it was hilarious!
No Cat Ballou or Which Way to the Front.
I really need to see the whole lot of ‘It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World’. I saw a scene involving Arnold Stang and Marvin Kaplan (as a Top Cat fan, that made me more than a little excited seeing the actors for Top Cat and Choo-Choo) and found it hard to quit laughing!
I Could not agree more with number one!!!! But the apartment should have been number 2 after that and I Was very diseponted it was only at #9.:/
1. Dr Strangelove or (How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb (1964)Â Â Â Â 2. the Apartment (1960)Â Â Â Â 3. the Sweet Life (1961)Â Â Â Â 4. the Pink Panther (1963)Â Â Â Â 5. Kidnapping Caucasian Style (1967)Â Â Â Â 6. the Producers (1968)Â Â Â Â 7. the Nutty Professor (1963)Â Â Â Â 8. Breakfast at Tiffanys (1961)Â Â Â Â 9. Make Mine Mink (1960)Â Â Â Â 10. the Party (1968)
