i was upset that "Philadelphia Story" wasn't number 1 for the 30s, and only forgave the site for the fact it came out 1940 and is number one here.
Murder, He Says???
What, no Bob Hope?
=( Why "The Shop Around the Corner" got only a mention? It's such a great movie!

Man, I remember watching Abbott and Costello when I was a kid, (Sigh) Good times.
The monster was played by Glenn Strange not Lon Chaney jr.
You missed "Anchors Aweigh" (1945) with Gene Kelly and Frank Sinatra playing a couple of navy "swabs" on shore leave getting into domestic and romantic troubles. Some really funny songs and what seems to be some clever ad-libs. Yeah, it had it's WWII propaganda "on" too, but had its moments. Also the "Ma and Pa Kettle" films (the first one was the best) which kinda inspired "The Beverly Hillbillies" (but with uranium instead of oil).
A good one is 1949's Kind Hearts and Coronets with Alec Guiness playing in 8 different roles, classic British black comedy.
The Good Humor Man……..
The list however, is excellent……….
People really need to stop complaining about WatchMojo.com, then again, this is the internet…
DON'T STOP READING OR ELSE SOMETHING BAD WILL HAPPEN. MY NAME IS JENNY. I LIVE IN A CELL WITH NO WINDOWS OR DOORS. I HAVE NO NOSE OR EARS. I AM DEAD. IF YOU DO NOT POST THIS TO 15 PEOPLE BEFORE YOU GO TO BED, I WILL APPEAR TONIGHT BY YOUR BED AND STAB YOU WITH A KNIFE. THIS IS NO JOKE. SOMETHING GOOD WILL HAPPEN TO YOU AT 10:22. SOMEONE WILL CALL YOU AND SAY I LOVE YOU OR I'M SORRY. BUT HERE'S THE CATCH: SEND TO 15 VIDEOS
Abbot and Castello meet Frankenstein was a video I always rented from the Public Library. That and the haunted house one were both fun and a bit spooky for my 4-5 year old self.
I'm a 26-year-old guy who hasn't seen or heard of a lot of these titles, so I personally LOVE this (and these) list(s). Really interesting to me. If I wasn't interested, I wouldn't watch (and a lot of the lists don't interest me at all). But a lot of people are watching a lot of these lists. This works! 🙂
People used to talk so fast
To be or not to be is such a funny movie!!!!
Come on, The Bank Dick should be in the top ten
I think the National Anthem of Costa Rica  should have been at least on the honorable mention list.
Marx bros? Laurel and Hardy?
#Comedy
The Great Dictator should have been n°1!
Numbers 9, 8, 4, and 1 are my favorites!
I am 13 and all I watch is classic movies southweststrangla420 you dick
Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein was a perfect choice for this list. A&C are undoubtedly the funniest comedy duo of all time.
Road To Morocco      Never Give A Sucker An Even Break
A & C meet Frankenstein is #1.
end of story
What a great list of movies! This is a home run!
lame
"Heil Hitler"- "Heil myself". This Movie "To be or not to be" ist phantastic.
I'm seeing The Philadelphia Story tonight in an old movie theater that has a balcony. Oh I can't wait…
Let George Do It (1940). Is a George Formby classic that is also hilariously funny that includes a scene of him smacking Hitler in the mouth. Great comedic songs too as only Formby can deliver.
I'd have put Road to Morocco, Hellzapoppin' Love Crazy, Ball of Fire, I Love you Again and Danny Kaye's Wonder Man in there too somewhere.
r´the great dictator should be #1 imo, to be or not to be and the shop around the corner should be higher, and where is going my way?!;)
This is one of my favorite lists ever. It has a lot of my favorite films in it.
No Ball of Fire?
What's that country twang music playing in the background? What does that have to do with the 40's comedy? Fire the video editor!
thank you for including Abbott and Costello meet Frankenstein! one of their best! i watch it every year on Halloween and it never fails to crack me up! The Great Dictator resonates now more than ever!
The segment dealing with "Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein" made it look like Lon Chaney Jr. played the Frankenstein monster, when in fact he played the Wolfman, a role he originated in the film "The Wolfman", which I believe was made in 1942 or '43; this character appeared in a series of films in which (as in "Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein") he was paired with the Frankenstein monster and Count Dracula (in these movies, Dracula was played by different actors, whereas Bela Lugosi only appeared as the vampire count in 1931's "Dracula" as well as in the film with A & C).
I wish I had met Bud Abott in real life
7:50 Oh, so they did have cellphones that played YouTube videos back then
Go West, The Big Store, The Bride Came C.O.D., The Man Who Came to Dinner, and George Washington Slept Here.
