where is fablehaven
Red Rising would be great to see.
"Earth" by David Brin
Can't wait for the invisible "Gazer" – Warfare at the end of the book, as 2 powerfull factions fight for the control over "beta", and thus the fate of humanity.
I am surprised that Anne McCaffrey's Dragon Rider's series is not among this list.
wtf!? boooo where is wheel of time? or mistborn these could easily become a hit Franchise for any studio . fucking Hollywood, but they keep fueling money into remakes and over saturated marvel movies. smh
SKULDUGGERY PLEASENT
I wonder why Catcher In The Rye hasn't been made into a movie? It's the kind of thing James Franco should have done 10years ago. Or made his brother Dave Franco could do it now.
The Way I see it, anyone can make a book with the potential of becoming a movie, but only a genius can make a book that Not even Hollywood can touch.
Legend by David Gemmell, with Liam Neeson as Druss. Then, if, I mean when it's a success there is plenty of material for a Drenai series.Dorothy Dunnett's Lymond series. A complex character, twisty plots and 16th century setting. Classic.
The Last Book In The Universe. And a proper movie, not a crappy low-budget one.
I want the Legend series by Marie Lu as movies. They would be SO GOOD.
Robert A Heinlein, have spacesuit will travel should be a movie.
This list is terrible until you pout a Brandon Sanderson book on it.
I vote for Raymond Feist's "Magician" and Weiss' and Hickman's Dragonlance Chronicles.
Finnegans Wake, obvi!
Rage by Stephen King If its tuned into a movie I'm gonna see it no matter what
please put chaos walking trilogy
The Alienist
Good list! They should make a movie from the horror book Affliction I Have Seen by Trent Mills. This is a super scary book that is morbid and bizarre.
Please make The Raven Boys a movie series!!!!!!!!!
spy school series
Rendezvous with Rama is my favorite book! All hail Arthur Clarke
John Waters wanted to do Confederacy of Dunces, so I am guessing Divine was also considered for the role of Ignacious – and he too died tragically early.
IMHO, Belushi may have been good, but Farley and Candy weren't "gay" enough*
*not saying Belushi was gay, only that his acting was so over-the-top he could have pulled it off. …
Here's my input for the list:
Sirens Of Titan (George Clooney would be a great Malachi; Terry Gilliam should direct.)
Invisible Monsters (Chuck Palahnuik said it was in the making a decade ago… Daryl Hannah would be great as Brandy Alexander)
"reds" by Jack W. Thomas (just awesome)
Jitterbug Perfume by Tom Robbins (might need an NC-17 rating tho, it's very sexy)
Ruby by Cynthia Bond (brutal story a la Toni Morrison involving voodoo/ Satan worship, child prostitution and murder, mental illness, etc. – please, though, cast a real Beautiful Black woman, not that high-yellow mulatto Halle Berry)
And please, someone do a remake of Sheila Levine Is Dead And Living In New York that does the post-Borscht-Belt/ Woody Allen-esque tone of the book justice! The '70s TV movie was horrible, she wasn't even overweight …. Todd Solonz might be able to handle it…
am I the only one that didn't like catcher in the rye??? I am going to read it again its been around 8/9 years but hey ill give it a second shot
Number one is THE most over-rated books I have ever been forced to read…
Regarding the other books that are more complex I would rather have a series (Im lookin at you HBO and Netflix) so that we we get everything and nothing is cut out; even a 10 mini series would suffice.
now the dark tower series has made into a movie now
Number One should have been Mein Kampf
The house of the Scorpion should be a movie
Phillip Pullman's: His Dark Materials trilogy, thou the first crack at The Golden Compass succckkkeeeddd!
"The Ranger's Apprentice" series
I would love to see a movie version of Rendezvous with Rama. That book really gripped my imagination and I'm sure it would make a splendid film.
Aurora
Did it piss anyone of they waster a spot on "Tales of aFourth Grade Nothing"
The Dark Tower is coming out in theaters this summer.
I wouldn't read Franzen's book, I found it offensive that he was offended that Oprah chose it for her book club recommendation. How pretentious. Your book gets recommended by a TV icon and you're too grand to appreciate it. Get over yourself.
I just want to say that Fyodor Dostoevsky's "Notes from the Underground" is pretty much the source material for Martin Scorsese's "Taxi Driver," which is a cinematic masterpiece if you ask me.
Goethe's Faust has never been in Hollywood screen.
But there making a dark tower movie :0
5:24 Dark Tower we've asked for, Dark Tower we are going to get
FUCK YEAH!!!
