I don't like Catcher in the Rye, but not for the cursing, values, or moral codes. I'm against that stuff when it feels pointless or forced. I don't like Holden because he feels like a tool to shock the reader instead of just being a good character.
My mom couldn't let me rent "American Psycho" (Columbia Tristar Home Video) or "The Virgin Suicides" (Paramount Home Video) on VHS at Hollywood Video.
We were suppose to read lord of the flies ( saw the movie in 8th grade )… and we were suppose to read 1984… and have our final on it… but we didn't have time to read those :/ we just read a brave new world and Fahrenheit 451 we had our finals on that instead…
I really thought 'Naked Lunch' would be here somewhere.
stupids. I hate the muggles
Aaaah, I remember bringing my sister's copy Of Mice and Men to my Christian school when I was 14 simply because it wasn't allowed. I read it proudly as a middle finger to the school rules

I live in Missouri and I read A Brave New World last year in English and I thought it was a great book
I don't get why religious groups wanted to ban Harry Potter. I mean even if it is promoting other types of religion, or organised group it's still alright right?

Some school districts in America have banned H.G. Bissinger's "Friday Night Lights" claiming it is due to its racism, but I believe this is one of the main reasons why future leaders should read this book. I believe that it is often banned to hide that school districts often squander funds meant for education on their athletic programs. The ultimate victims were the students, whom were screwed because the funds were used to fly the Permian team to Marshall instead of buying new textbooks. The Texas UIL sanctioned both the Odessa Permian and Dallas Carter athletic programs after the release of the book. Neither school has had a very successful (American) football program since.
I was expecting the turner diaries to be banned. And it still exists.
how ironic of that Nineteen Eighty-Four movie was release in 1984
Hey, good job guys! Way to give away the ending to Lolita!
Now, where's my killin' hammer…?
I've read half of these and glad I have because they're classics, but good God Fahrenheit 451 was boring.

The Huckfin ban is the dumbest yet.

Surprised Marquis De Sade didn't make the list. All his books were banned and he was imprisoned under three different governments for their publications. Not to mention, the only movie adaption was banned worldwide.
