the original "the man who knew too much" is #1. secret agent #2 .
I'm sorry but how is North by Northwest not in the top 2. It's one of the 10 best movies of all time.
Vertigo is arguably (only other is Citizen Kane) the best film of all time???? Watchmojo always chooses popularity over quality.
1) Vertigo 2) Notorious 3) Rear window 4)North by northwest 5) Psycho
I can´t believe Rope didn´t make the top 10 , it´s a very bold story plus it was all shot with a single camera , one of the the best movies ever made imo .
We all knew what No.1 would be
Lets be honest here
There was no doubt
Top 10 Hitchcock scenes! Please!
VERTIGO is Hitchcock's greatest film… It's not even close
the cameos are really good :
sneaky old hitchcock
also do francis ford coppola!
I would boot Rebecca and put Shadow Of A Doubt in the top 10 instead. The rest of the list is solid.
Rope and to catch a thief should've been in the top!
should have looked more like this
1. Vertigo
2. Psycho
3. Rebecca
4. Shadow of a doubt
5. Rear window
6. Lady vanishes
7. Notorious
8. Rope
9. North by northwest
10. Dial m for murder
Shadow of a Doubt was the director's personal favourite.
Frenzy is also a magnificent curio.
1.North by Northwest 2.Vertigo 3.Rear Window 4.The 39 Steps 5. Notorious 6. Marnie 7.Rebecca 8. Psycho 9. Blackmail 10.The Lady Vanishes/Foreign Correspondent/Shadow of a Doubt/Rope/Strangers on a Train/Dial M for Murder/To Catch a Thief/The Wrong Man/The Birds…
Top directors:1.Mizoguchi 2.Renoir 3.Tarkovsky 4.Hitchcock 5.Satyajit Ray 6.Pilger 7.Yoshida + Angelopoulos, Kurosawa, Naruse, Welles, Ozu, Rohmer, Ophuls, Kubrick, Rivette, Eisenstein, Oliveira, Powell, Miyazaki, Dreyer, Von Sternberg, Shimizu, Iosseliani, Antonioni, Bunuel, Feuillade, Peries, Scorsese, Lang … (and I haven't forgotten Bergman, Ford, Fellini, Godard, Bresson, Hawks, Tarantino..)
That was an odd pronunciation of Ray Milland.
Top ten of 50. unreal. Hitchcock was a craftsman who was universally good. Rather YOU should have said what was BAD & WHY.
My first Hitchcock movie was Psycho, but I don't think it's his best one. I don't know why it's always the number one. I prefer Rear Window, Dial M for Murder and Notorious than Psycho. I don't say it's not good, I say there are better Hitchcock movies.
Do the top 10 Hitchcock cameos.
#1 was really a Surprise.
If any Hitchcock fans want to see the 39 Steps, it's in the public domain, as are 22 other earlier Hitchcock films. Google it.
How come does Vertigo only take the 3rd spot? It's arguably the best movie ever made.
