Norse gods are just as bogus and petty as Greek and Roman gods. What all of them have in common is lust, greed, and power- which includes being in a family that's dysfunctional as hell.
What movie is this from? It said "Thor the dark world" but I don't remember seeing it…Was it a deleted seen or something….I'm so confused….
This is more like Odin ,this. Not that pacifist in the first movie. This is Woden Allfather. Hel, Loki is lucky, the real Odin would have probably placed a snake above him to torture him for all eternity.
Why does Loki all of a sudden hate Odin ?? In Thor 1 he did everything so he would be proud of him and I'm avenger he didnt say anything about hating Odin now all of a sudden he does ???
He's so sassy
Cast out onto a frozen rock.
Cold piece
oh shut up odin, lol nobody cares
god. Odin's a dick bag.
I was about to cry when i saw loki's face when odin said such damn awful words to him. Loki really need a hug
the posts here reek of entitlement.
Don't yell at me, but Charles Dance would be much better as Odin. Just put an eyepatch on Tywin Lanister and you're done.
When you bite the hand that feeds you, this is exactly what awaits you in the end.
"Your birthrigh-T" wth…
I actually hate Odin. He makes Loki sad. Therefore Tom sad.
Poor loki… Nobody puts Loki in the corner!!!
What he said is some what true…
but dick move Odin.
This scene is the best in what is…kind of just an ok movie.
This scene really disturbed me the first time I saw the movie. Really. Because I knew that Odin wasn't quite a good father, but now… I hope I can write what I think without people yelling at me about how evil Loki is and how right Odin is, if it's possible, beacuse I see many harsh and aggressive comments down here.
I really liked Loki since the first movie. He's, in my opinion, the most interesting character of the movie, and I can easily sympathize with him. This DOESN'T mean that I approve his actions. I think that he deserves prison, even if maybe not until his death (I mean… they live thousand years. It's a reeeeaaally long time, guys!). Still, I can't see him as an evil man, but more like a man who have been driven crazy in a moment of weakness by the sudden discovery of a harsh truth. We all know that leading the Frost Giants intro Asgard in the first movie wasn't meant to cause the successive events.
About Odin, I have to say that I dislike him. We have seen in this second movie that he's not as wise or good as he looked before, and it' clear after Frigga's death, when he said that he would spill every drop of asgardian blood, and blah blah blah… sorry, I don't remember the line perfectly, also this is not my mother language.
This scene in the video, in particular, made me see him as a cruel bastard. Because I know that he's angry at Loki, and ashamed by his actions and everything, but seriously, how can he say that Loki's birthright was to die? I'm not sure if Laufey abadoned him or if he just left him there while he was in battle, but it doesn't matter now. Even if Laufey left him to die, this just means what it says. He was LEFT to die, it wasn't his birthright.
I speak to the people who said that it was, and that Odin was right. I don't know how it works where you live, but nobody's birthright is to die. Nobody deserves to die since their birth. Odin did the right thing by saving him, but it's just what everybody should do when they find an abandoned child. Not the action of some kind of saint. Part of my family was composed by children found in the streets during the war, and nobody ever told them that if it wasn't for their new parents they would be dead, or that their birthright was to die. Not even when one of them ran away and then returned back.
This is really one of the most cold and cruel things that I have ever heard a parent tell to his son.
When I showed the movie to my parents, I must tell you, my mother was shocked by this line, and my father suddenly got angry. And he doeasn't get angry easily.
This is my opinion. Since we are supposed to be civilized people, I'd appreciate if people who disagree with me could express it in a civilized way, instead of insulting me. Thank you.
P.S.
I apologise for any grammar mistake, as I said english is not my mother language.
I'm sorry but when Odin says: Your birthrigh t was to die i'm laughing because he says it so funny XD
Odin is so sassy
does this nigga not get that hes a frost giant
Russian birthright? 😉
Odin doesn't give a damn about Loki. He never did. It's so obvious
How dare you Odin?! How can you make cry your own boy?! Yes! He is adopted but you are his father! hugs Loki You must have to die! Not Frigga!
Everyone saying how Loki's so misunderstood, and that Odin is a terrible person to him, and I'm like, did you miss the first fucking thing he says? "I really don't see what all the fuss is about."? He let genocidal aliens loose on a world with no hope of fighting back, killing hundreds possibly thousands, gleefully murdered the people of that earth himself (even being so brutal as to kill one by ripping his eye out WHILE SMILING ABOUT IT) and to top it off he doesn't understand why Odin is so angry with him. Loki deserves much more than a comfortable prison cell. If any rational people wonder how bad men and women get away with what they do and gather so many supporters, just read any comment section of any video with Loki in it.
