One of the first true superheroes, Aquaman’s backstory has been retold several times since his debut in 1941. Most notably as Arthur Curry, the son of an ex-sailor turned lighthouse operator and mysterious woman who had washed ashore. Gifted with superpowers, Arthur eventually learned that he was the son of Atlantis and destined to become the king of the Seas! He even joined the Justice League of America, fighting along such superheroes as Batman, Superman, Wonderwoman and The Flash. Join as we explore the comic book origins of Arthur Curry, otherwise known as Aquaman.

Dude. He's awesome.
I did not appreciate how Aquaman was treated in the past…
He was made out to be such a goofy character. Now he that he's a more gritty character, i have tons of respect for him.
Likes of the Injustice series or the Justice League animated series did him very much so right.
Of course i do not like his physical appearance in Justice League live action movie… Arthur Curray always looked good in green tights, orange sweater and blonde hair.
ackwa man
why would he keep his slave clothes
Wow AquaCave
Aqualaman: Where did you get that name from??
Aqualad: I dunno seen it from a comic somewhere
If you ask me Aquaman is extremely underrated. From what I've read about him from the New 52 and Rebirth he's actually one of the more interesting characters in the DC Universe. Plus his wife Mera is equally probably one of the most underrated hottest women in comics. The main reason for his unpopularity and jokes is largely blamed on the Super Friends show from the 70's which for all intents and purposes showed a very weak portrayal of the character. Hell before Frank Miller's Dark Knight Returns and Tim Burton's first Batman film reinvented the character, Batman was still seen in the public eye as a camp not very serious goofy superhero mostly due to the impact of Adam West's Batman show from the 60's, despite the fact the character in the comics had steered away from that years after the show ended.
Fuck you aquaman!
Aqualad: "Aquaman, the ocean's on fire, hurry!"
Aquaman: "…wtf?!"
Don't make him angry, he'll make a tsunami and wash away Metropolis.
He looks badass in the Justice League movie.
