Because it's not in English.
So… why you don´t learn French?! Or why all English speakers are such a dumbass with the other languages? Stop being lazy! –'
While I agree that learning a second language is good, whether it's French or any other doesn't really matter, the "Official Trailer" in the clip's title is in English which is misleading. If they post a French video, great but then post the title in French not in English. Otherwise English-speakers like myself expect at least English subtitles in order for us to understand.
ya quiero ver esta pelicula.
Using stair..,he's doing it wrong.
'Take the A train'….ummm maybe 'Mood indigo' a more logical choice? hehe 😉
Looks good even without subtitles.
After some missteps this looks like the natural successor to a film like The Science of Sleep, and Gondry returning to his wildly imaginative roots.
I've studied German. My wife is fluent in Spanish and Mandarin Chinese, and proficient in Italian, Uzbek and Uyghur. (Yes, that means in addition to English, my wife can speak 5 languages.) There are limits to how many languages one person can master. We'd love to be fluent in French, but like most people, time is not an unlimited resource for us.
Ironically poor grammar!
Given that english is his second language, and that I've seen native english speakers do far worse, I think he deserves a "pass."
Looks interesting
I see your point of view, but isn't a complete valid argument. It's just a trailer, and maybe the title it's in English because it's more easier to "find". Otherwise nobody would know what movie is… unless French people.
But that's the point! This trailer is in French without subtitles so it's clearly aimed only at FRENCH people. If you want English-speaking people to find it, you need to put at least English subtitles beneath it. Not everyone can or wants to learn French.
Ironically I'm not a English speaker, and i can talk with you! Or do you prefer me writing on my born language (Portuguese)? Maybe then to understand one word, you would need to copy/past to Google translate… And pray for a correct translation. 😉
Ok ok. But when you really wants one thing, you will try to find that thing. You will not lose time complaining "about your life".
So basically you're saying I should learn French just to watch this trailer? That's a bit over the top….
No. Well… if you want yes! But if you want just watch one trailer, try to find one with subtitles… or wait for one. Just this.
Wow… How have you survived on this planet long enough from leaving your mothers womb to being able to type????
MANDINGO
I wish this trailer had subtitles.i dont even know if its going to be a comedy or a serious movie.I loved amelie so imma keep an eye on this one.
I'm saying that most Americans don't want to have to read subtitles to watch a movie. They feel it's inconvenient. Which is stupid, because they miss out on more original, unique movies such as this one looks…But whatever, 'Murica
Ah I see i'm sorry I read it wrong. I thought you yourself didn't want to watch it because it's not in English. Sorry dude 🙂
no entendí de que se trata pero la quiero ver!!!!
ca me semble bete…et j'ai pas tout compris la…
Romain Duris is in every french film
It's because you just can't translate a french film. Look at The Intouchables, huge success all over Europe. Massive fail in the USA.
Okay okay… No translation in english, but –
¿porque no una traducción en español?
I can't wait to watch this! <3 French cinema <3
