Why does the thumbnail look like Sammy the classic sonic fan?
Good choices, at least the ones I've seen. F D had an atmospherically creepy opening, during
the opening credits as well, between the images and the foreboding score.
The 2nd for me was pretty eerie as well, then the franchise started making full opening credit
sequences, 4 and five had the best, IMO.
It Follows was good, but one time was plenty for me.
You're Next had a sexy build up that foreshadowed what was coming pretty well
The entire Scream franchise had good but gruesome beginnings esp. the first 2.
The original E D movies, looked too cheesy to me, but the remake not only had a freaky
start, but that bloody rain storm and what the demons do to the teenagers was pretty
gruesome.
Saw 6 had the opening that almost made my stomache churn, and the only one.
Yes, I know these are basically franchise choices, but Disney's underrated and forgotten
Something Wicked this Way Comes, had an eerily effective opening sequence along
and how the title is formed, and last but not least, that musical score by James Horner's
just made the opening even more perfect. I have seen most of these, including the
honorable mentions. However only some of these stayed with me. Some times for
me atmosphere mixed with suspense tossing out the gruesome violence works
better, and if the music fits the different moods of the film, better still.
This list is just Top 10 death scenes.
They made a horror game from the circumstance in #2. It's really cool.
It Follows was the most boring movie in history! I fell asleep half way through it
eh
drag me to hell is the biggest pile of shit i've ever seen
drag me to hell for me it's the worst movie ever
Want a seriously creepy first 5-10 mins you should check out a Japanese flick called The Booth.

the drag me to hell opening was funny as shit
"Halloween" (1978). HELLO?
28 weeks later
Brother Johnnie at the start of Night of the Living Dead seems almost a caricature of a dorkish, effeminate 1960's liberal.
not a lownmower a humen mower
1:38 I guess the he was the only Juan to go…. too soon?
And it may not be a horror movie, but the opening to Blade used to scare the crap out of me.

My pick for the scariest movie opening is Jaws.
