Our planet is full of lush vegetation that adds a variety of color and resources to its surroundings. While there are a plethora of plants out there that range from average to beautiful, there are some plants that have quite the dark side. There are special plants out there that have a defense mechanism in place that’s so brutal, you shouldn’t even consider being in the same area as them. You should always be careful of what you touch, and this video will definitely school you on which plants you should never pick up. Some of these plants are more poisonous than wildlife, which is incredible since most of these plants develop their poison as protection from being eaten. Right now, it seems that there are thousands of different types of poisonous plants around the world. But given that we’re still studying our environment, that number could be more like in the millions!

For some people poison oak can be horribly toxic. Years ago my 'wasband' found that out the hard way. Within an hour after contact he began to itch and various body part became hideously swollen. He was stubborn about not going to the doctor even after antihistamines and calamine failed. For days he continued to itch and swell. His eyes were completely swollen shut as his face took on the appearance of a boxer who'd lost the fight miserably. I begged him to go to the doctor, but he continued to refuse. There wasn't any part of his body left unaffected, and when I say 'any', I mean ANY! After about a week I saw that his entire 'manhood' area was grossly swollen and unbelievably red. At my wits end, I took some pictures to show to a doctor, begging him for medical help without actually seeing the patient. The photos shocked him and, although the law or ethics said otherwise, he wrote out the prescriptions. And we lived happily ever after. NOT!!
