Hello my fashionsistas!
Welcome back to Not a Model TV. On this weeks episode of Fast Fridays I talk about essential makeup brushes. There are SO many different types of makeup brushes out there that it can be really confusing as to how many you need, and what they do! If you are just doing simple everyday makeup looks then you really only need about 6 makeup brushes, in my opinion these are it:
1. A foundation brush will give you a really lightweight, even and smooth finish to your foundation. It’s best to avoid using fingertips or a sponge to apply your foundation as the bacteria and oils on your fingers and also on makeup sponges (when reused) can cause breakouts, which can be damaging on your pores.
2. A concealer brush is great for applying and blending cream or liquid concealers to cover dark circles and blemishes. It’s definitely best to blend a concealer using a brush if you want to get a heavy coverage that is even and natural.
3. A powder brush is used to apply loose or pressed powders and is recommended over puff because of the flared shape. It applies powder really smoothly and evenly so will give you a soft luminous finish rather than a heavy and uneven coverage.
4. An angled blush brush is perfect for a smooth application and natural finish of blush on your cheeks, you can even use it to contour by manipulating the brush with your hand.
5. An eye shadow brush, the standard all rounder eye shadow brush is long bristled and flared in shape so it’s good for dusting all shades of eye shadow. It can be used to soften the intensity of the color, build up a shade for a dramatic finish and simply illuminate your eyes.
6. The eye crease brush is best for applying dark eye shadow to the inner and outer corner of your eye and through your crease. You can also use it to blend the outer edges of eye shadow for a gradient effect to your skin rather than having a harsh line of eye shadow at the edges.
They are the 6 essential makeup brushes I think any girl needs to create simple everyday makeup looks. I hope you found this video helpful and if you have any questions, just hit me up in the comment box below!
And remember, you don’t need to be a model to look like you’ve stepped off the runway – you just need a killer wardrobe and some lipstick!
