Continue the 360° Video Journey, as I explores the links between JAPAN’s Gaming Culture and its Rich History! In this 2nd Part of THE GLOBAL GAMER, prepare to experience wild fashions in Harajuku, multi-story Arcades, and an EXPLOSIVE Robot Battle!

Gaming today is an international language. But even though all cultures around the world are gaming, what we play and how we choose to play it really reflects our unique cultural backgrounds. So I designed a travel show for gamers as a means to teach about the world around us through the lens of gaming. And I did it in 360 because I wanted you to be there with me for the trip, every step of the way! I know a lot of you won’t be able to travel to places like Japan, so what better way to check out the sights and sounds of the country than by immersing you in it using 360 technology! It’ll be our wild journey together!

If you have a VR headset, this show looks AMAZING in it! If you don’t, I specifically designed it to work on your phones really well too! A lot of time and effort went into this project, so I hope you like it. It’s a big experiment, so please, let me know what you think of…THE GLOBAL GAMER!

A Brief History:

  1. I would like you to explore Russia. It is a major country that goes silent throughout history (or at least unspoken) and i would like to know the effects it has on worldwide gaming culture

  2. I think it'd be better in flat video just because this is more centered towards people with headsets. Its just more easy for you and easy for us. You aren't wasting your time, it's just a very niche spot when you use 360 video

  3. I LOVE THIS IDEA!! The only thing is I would like flat because the quality it better so you can see more details in the things that you show us, but i also like being able to see everything around. Its a very tough call for me

  4. I really, really enjoyed watching this 2 part series, the 360 camera filming is fun and engaging, but, I end up cranking up the resolution for the video and it really takes a toll on my poor laptop. I still think this was a neat way to do such a video though despite that one issue. =^.^=

  5. I have always wanted to go and play in Akihabara and dress like a Cult Party Kei in Harajuku. Hope you liked the trip MatPat! And it was cool you played The Disappearance of Hatsune Miku!!!

  6. Loved this! Finally got to see robot restaurant again! Loving the 360, it's like being there with you guys. Would love to see more things done like this!

  7. So… I know that Israel isn't known as a gaming empire, but with Israel everything is very interesting. I bet that you'll find something special about gaming here. If there are two things that Israel is – it's interesting and varied.

  8. If you do more of these, please make them flat. The action is in one direction most of the time anyway, and the video quality is so bad, I could barley see your face at 1080p

  9. MatPat, my YouTube recommendations aren't working. I have literally zero interest in any videos on there, and trust me, I've told them why I'm not interested. Maybe I narrowed down my choices so much that it has nothing for me. I don't know what to do – telling them why I'm not interested takes a long time, and it's very boring. If you see this, what should I do?
