METAL GEAR SOLID 3 is one of my favorite games of all time! But this episode isn’t about me gushing over the game. Instead, I wanna talk about the MGS question that has floated around the Internet for years with no answer: Is Metal Gear Solid 3 actually a virtually simulated training mission within the Metal Gear Universe? Well, Loyal Theorists, I’ve found an answer and the evidence to back it up!

It's all a simulation? Well I guess…I'M STILL IN A DREAM.
SNAKE EATER.
I would love to see a team fortress 2 theory please make it happen
Lol, 4:13 nice touch 😉
Great job Mat,. I really loved it. Honestly you really do deserve ever thing you have and more.
MAT CHILL ON MGS2 I LIKE RAIDEN all the way up to 4 but MG Rising was too far
I actually enjoy this video
pls put more effort into ur theories,ur past few theories really had like 0 effort in them
Mmmhh… there are some holes in this theory.
For instance technology necessary to pull something like this off doesn't exist even today, and certainly not in the game either. Remember, 'Jack the Ripper' a.k.a. Raiden did go through extensive state of the art VR training and we got to go through it with him, only this happened much, much later and the tech they used wasn't as sophisticated as what is proposed in the theory.
Also the questioning "Virtual Mission?" quote Naked gives is much more in line with Raiden than it is with any of the other Snakes, let alone with the medic. Remember, this quote is at the beginning of the entire game, there hadn't been enough time for the medic to acquire such person related quirks and oddities. Besides, the personalities do not line up enough between Naked Snake at the end of Snake Eater and with that of Venom Snake for it to be the same person who goes through all of these events in just a matter of days rather than months, years and decades.
Not only that, but MGS3 was meant to be the finale for the series to begin with and it was meant to tie up all the lose ends. Making the events virtual would completely undermine that idea as we then wouldn't be able to ascertain weather these events actually happened at all and how much of it was edited for the sake of training.
This theory would also some pretty strange Inception type of deals since we are actually able to see and play one of Naked Snakes nightmares in the games during the torture / prison sequence. What purpose would this have if it's just virtual to begin with?
And in Metal Gear Solid 3D, there was Nintendo Power, which wasn't created until 24 years later, and Yoshi, who wasn't created until 26 years later.
Best franchise ever
Best ending

Man I love metal gear I would have never noticed this. It dose make sense but I never got the chance to play 4 where dose that fit in.
Fission Mailed
A video game character isn't real? You don't say.
I was about to call bullcrap, UNTIL you mentioned the Medic from the chopper in Ground Zeroes. While there is a hitch in that I'm trying to understand how Major Zero put a comatose patient into a VR system, 80% of that makes sense to a degree. BUT… You left out another crucial thing. Peace Walker. Where do Kaz, Chico, Paz, everyone from there and Huey come into the light? Because Peace Walker isn't a spin off in any way, it heavily ties in with MGSV, such as the events of Zeke, Paz being a spy, and Kaz forming a close friendship with Big Boss.
If MGS 3 related to MGS 5, could there be hints of GoW 4 in GoW 1 or 2?
Where’s Mass Effect part 2 though?
Nice try, mr Pat.
But did you just assume that Roy Campbell supervised Venom Snake training..? OOPS!
theory
The first game to canonically have VR is MGS1 in 2005. I even looked up in a wiki which says VR doesn't exist in-universe until the late 90's. So I must ask: How the hell does Venom Snake have VR training in the mid 80's? He can't even do a VR Mission after the coma, he dies in 1995!
for it to be a time paradox, it also needs to have already happened
*Clap Clap good job Matt Pat outdone yourself again
Mind giving us a new theory next time?
Stay away from me.
Kinda feels like old time again. Keep it up matpat.
if we go continuity wise, the person going through Big Boss's (Naked Snake) is really Venom Snake. if you don't know the ending to MGSV yet i don't feel bad for you its been 2 years
Wait wait. takes grain of salt Ok go.
