There was a time a couple of years ago where i though goft might be on lotr's level. Then I re-read lotr and the silmarillion and I was brought back to reality
You say GOT has more battles but shouldn't the hobbit be taken into account this would bring up the amount of the fights and the quality is better anyway
I prefer the gritiness and slightly more realism in GoT (minus the plot armory trend in latest seasons). But I think both are perfect fits in the media they are on. I'd rather have full blown fantasy in a movie trilogy and more relatable ppl for a show
Next WatchMojo will be.. which wall is best to watch paint dry
Ummm, why do we have to compare these series? We should just enjoy both. I love both LOTR books and movies (not including the Hobbit movies because yuck) and I love GoT and ASOIAF books too.
Wars should have gone to lotr but they always want to make it 2-3 so they gave wars to got
I hoped GoT would win 🙁
Lotr should’ve won the battles round more doesn’t = better and of course
There are more battles in got cause remember 7 seasons to 3 movies
LOTR and there is no contest at all. LOTR is for ages to come nobody will remember got after this annoying hype is gone.
every point should go to LOTR
This isn't fair especially when it came to battles and such because there is a lot more game of thrones
Both are great?
Got is great but better than lotr? Hell no
I'm just reading the comments.. and is fucking hilarious the amount of people that really believe that LOTR is better than GOT. ~
Don't care, ignorants got to ignore.~
I think 3-2 was because WatchMojo wanted this "competition"to be a little fair.Should've been 5-0!!!
You legit handed the points out so they would come close. Fairly LOTR should have won all of them. And the first point that you gave GOT is very objective and varies on the person watching. What a load of crap
Lord of the rings was honestly the first movie i ever watched in my life, dont know what my parents were thinking letting me watch that at like 5 or 6 years old but i can honestly say a year doesn’t go by that i dont binge watch all 3 movies
You only have battles to GoT because you didn't want it to be a blowout for LotR… but the battles in LotR are FAR SUPERIOR by every objective measure
bullshit.
LOTR
GOT is the best ever !!!!!
Oh no Fanboys getting triggered
LOTR all the way
im sorry, but the LOTR has the best battle scenes of all time when it comes to cinematography
there's definitely one thing they both have in common: a dead Sean Bean.
let me break this down LOTR; High Fantasy with more fantasy elements and intrigue as well as being the Magnum Oppus of anything that is Fantasy relatedGoT; While fantasy at its very core, It retains more humanistic aspects of what a world in constant political and power struggles is really like as well as being the ignition of the Fantasy/fiction renaissance. To compare the two is like comparing Dark Souls and The Elder Scrolls ; You technically can compare them but they're ultimately two different entities that both have made a significant impact in pop culture. Plus one has a satisfying ending while the other either makes you want to throw your remote at the screen or make you question why you bother engaging in it even though it hurts you
There's just no competition, Tolkien is the king of fantasy and without his masterpieces we wouldn't have the things we have today. Every fantasy story owes itself to Tolkien.
As much as I love Game of Thrones, it was Lord of the Rings that sparked my interest into the Medieval setting, and that interest was strengthened by the Witcher. So winner to me, is lord of the rings.
