The end of May provided us with some big news out of the film world, and June hasn’t waited long to deliver the goods either. This week’s instalment of the show dives in the closing of the Cannes Film Festival where Sofia Coppola became only the second female to win best director in the 70-year history of the fest. Steven Soderbergh returns to the director’s chair with Logan Lucky, an oddball heist comedy starring Channing Tatum, Adam Driver and Daniel Craig, and of course, DC’s Wonder Woman is set for release, with many reviewers calling it the best the studio has put out since The Dark Knight Trilogy. So sit back, relax and enjoy this week’s instalment of The CineFiles, where we count down the week’s biggest news in cinema.

  1. Only fools can't see this for the feminist anti-male propaganda it is,along with thousands of examples on tv,other movies, comics(marvel in particular),etc…
When they say things like "rise of the WARRIOR"and she's the "FUTURE"they are talking about REPLACING "toxic patriarchal males"with delusional "gurl power"b.s. and only truly weak effeminate female posterior kissing dimwits can't or won't see it for what it is.

  2. Wonder Woman is a 10/10 movie with action, romance and gun fire. If you see it, I believe that you would love it.

  3. Does anyone else feel that the Wonder Women movie is pretty much like Captain America? You have a superhero in the 1940's battling in WW1/2 with a love interest that will inevitably be killed in the present day, because of some immortality, frozen in ice, time altering deal (and yes I know she's a demi-god of sorts).  But that's just my take on it

I think that DC pulled that stunt as a way to compare itself with the MCU's Captain America. They could take their time and make something interesting and unique about their DC universe, but I'm not having high hopes still.

  4. Watchmojo logic: Wonder Woman is different from Wonder Woman to the rescue
Normal person's logic: It's the same god damn thing
