How about the 2007 New York Mets Season collapse? They had a seven-game division lead on in early September, and then went on to lose 12 of their last 17 games to miss the postseason
What about the great collapse of GD/Gronicall Dizziness (Ultimate Frisbee team of the city Groningen,Netherlands) vs Crunch Frisbee team of Amsterdam). GD were leading a 6-3 score in the last minute of the final of the tournament. So we thought it was all over we won… But then someone said we had to play another 5 minutes and we eventually lost the finale 7-9…
I'm a Packers fan but the Packers Seahawks 2014 NFC Title game should be on the list
Greatest comeback in Super Bowl history gets an honorable mention?!?..come on mojo, I look forward to the one good video y'all put out per day

03 Cubs aren't a sure thing .. the marlins was a young and inspire team ..i don't think the 03 Cubs could beat the 03 yankees
1951 Brooklyn Dodgers? they were up by 13 games in late August, then 4-1 in the 9th Inning of the 3rd playoff game, when Bobby Thomson hit his Shot-Heard-Around-the-World homerun.
Bill Bevens blown 9th Inning No-Hitter in the 1947 World Series?
Also the Oilers collapse was much worse than the Patrick Stefan missed empty net and others. I'd put it #2 or #3.
How about the 2013 America's Cup? Team New Zealand were leading Oracle USA by 8 Races to 1 (First to 9) in San Francisco Bay and ended up losing 8 Races to 9. Easily the biggest choke in World Sporting History, If Sailing/Yachting is a Sport.

You missed the 7-1 germany vs Brasil at fifa World cup 2014

2010 Boston Bruins. Up 3-0 in the series against the Flyers. The Flyers come back to force a game 7. Bruins up 3-0 in game 7. Flyers eventually win the game and series 4-3
why not Barca 6-1 PSG in the UCL. (Barca 6-5 PSG on AGG)
5/13/13 never forget. That day I learned that you NEVER turn off the Bs game, no matter how bad it looks.
please make another one of these
Look at sport in the southern hemisphere for once ffs
BASEBALL IS A SPORT?
(1) Team New Zealand in the Americas Cup in 2013. The Americas Cup is the oldest trophy in international sport (by all means look that fact up). TNZ was leading the first to 9 win series 8-1. Team Oracle (oddly enough funded by Larry Page) then won 8 straight races. And broke the heart of a nation. NZ really appreciates the Americas Cup. Let's face it in the USA it doesn't really rate a mention. Statistics indicated that TNZ simply couldn't match the development speed of the high tech improvements Oracle could roll out day after day.
(2) Same sport different era, Australia 2 beat Liberty (skippered by the legendary Dennis Conner) 1983. The US had NEVER lost the trophy in 132 years. In a bitter contest the US led 3-1 claiming the whole time the Australian boat was illegal. The Australians won the legal battle that they could compete, and then came back to win 4-3. Legend has it that the members of the New York Yacht club would say the cup should be replaced by the head of the American skipper who lost it. In 1987 Dennis Conner won the cup back, and took it to his home city of San Diego. NYYC go (4 letter word beginning with a F and ending with a K and not being Folk, Funk, Flak, Fork or Fink.
(3) DEFINITELY not my sport. But 2005 AC Milan in the European Cup Final (OK for the US imagine the super bowl, but played by clubs stretching from Iceland through to Siberia, no this isn't Baltimore to Nebraska, this is more than half the planet) AC Milan led Liverpool at half time by a score indicative of their domination, 3-0. Liverpool exactly reversed the score in the second half. After a first half of misses Jerzy Dudek (quaint Merseyside name there) kept out a series of definite chances in the second half. And then defended his goal in penalties, enough for Liverpool to win on penalties 3-2.I grew up surrounded by fans of "Liverpool". No doubt they were all in rapturous. My old man grew up in the merchant navy, his opinion of the Mersey was it was the arsehole of the world. Liverpool was a couple of miles up it. If you don't understand how difficult it is for me to put "Liverpool 2005" on this list, then you do not understand the human condition.
good thing there's that massive red arrow pointing at nothing.
as a European I can relate to this…..
the gerrard slip
Hockey World Championships 2003, Finland – Sweden. Finland was winning 5-1, but somehow managed to lose the game 5-6.
boston vancouver NHL playoffs didnt even get a mention? that should have been number 1, fumbled a 2-0 game lead to lose the stanley cup thats the biggest collapse in history
Dan Gable 181-1 college wrestling, undefeated until his last match, at the NCAA finals
Really the Cubs #1? That's not the biggest choke ever.
So unbelievably biased towards the states, disappointing…
7:13 1st overall* and him missing that shot contributed to Chicago winning the lottery instead of Edmonton and taking Patrick Kane
Cleveland blew 3-1 lead
The undefeated patriots??
