Top 10 Summer Movies of the 20th Century (HD) JoBlo.com Exclusive
We count down the groundbreaking summer movies that helped define a generation in the last century, many of which paved the way for what is known as the blockbuster season of the year. From Indiana Jones to Batman to Star Wars and beyond, we count down these nostalgic favorites that still resonate with audiences today.
These right here are my kind of movies. A lot of my favorites of all time are right here in this top 10. Good Job on this one JoBlo.
As for 2014, my favorites so far are Guardians of the Galaxy, X-Men DOFP, Edge of Tomorrow, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, Captain America 2, and How to Train Your Dragon 2
You shouldn't ignore both The Avengers and The Dark Knight they both set a new standard for a Superheroes Movies and of course their income.
My favorite summer blockbuster of 2014 is THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2!!!! 🙂
Nailed this list, now I want to watch then all again!
Gone with the wind , Titanic …?
Jaws beats Star Wars? I don't think so, but oh well…cool
1981 Raiders of the lost ark!!
Must disagree. Star Wars should be #1 Jaws, second. As for this year, Guardians of the Galaxy, hands down, IMHO. Peace Out!
I would include The Lion King on my list
Those of us who were around for it remember, Jaws was unbeatable as a summer film, also it was one of the first films to open everywhere at the same time. Even Star Wars opened in the big cities and played for months before spreading to the suburbs.
1. "charisma"… You keep using that word. I don't think it means what you think it means
seriously: "Arnold Schwarzenegger's Charisma"? – you find nothing wrong in the combination of these words?!?
2. "Temple Of Doom" ain't just the worst Indiana Jones of the first 3 . . . Â It's easily below No. 4 in terms of quality and tolerability (yeah yeah: let the shit-storm begin, fanboys; frankly: I don't care if I did hurt your petty feelings with that; you are not the center of the world!)
What about "Mighty Ducks 3"? or "Superman IV: The Quest for Peace"?
