What’s the least spoken language in the world? It might be one of these rare languages to learn. Whether it’s Archi, only spoken in a few Russian villages, Friulian, which has about 600 thousand speakers around the world, or Basque, spoken mainly near the Pyrenees mountains, these are some of the least spoken languages on the planet. you forgot Old bavarian only a few 10000 can only speak this, its not german its Old Bavarian not even bavarian can understand this good.

I am a native speaker of kölsch, a rare language originally from West Germany near the Netherlands which is on the edge of extinction now
I'm from South Africa, and Xhosa is spoken by a lot of people, so I wouldn't call it rare

Welsh is my second language.
Also, Aramaic is very rare. It's spoken in Maalula, which is a village in Syria, and it's also the language Jesus Christ spoke.
Welsh has more speakers than Irish.
What about Scots Gaelic. Only about 1% of the population can speak it.

I was hoping to see an Indigenous Australian language here. There are literally hundreds of Indigenous languages still spoken by small tribes/families of Indigenous people and all are on their way to extinction :'(
