crazy things done by crazy people in history .

Spanish Inquisition >>>>> All Witch Hunts.
Religion. It's a helluva drug
I live close to Salem and I have to say, it's kind of a joke. Now it's filled with women claiming to be witches and people walking around in costume. I expected some sign of respect for the dead, instead I got a show of maniacs running around causing drama about their territory. It's still a beautiful city, but because of that town I kind of walked away from being a Wicca after I saw such disrespect for the dead.
So you talk about the Northamptonshire trials and Chelmsford, but fail to mention the trails in Bamberg and Wurzburg or Cologne? The Prince Bishop of Bamberg essentially discarded all rights of human nature so he could get false confessions, even burning people without strangulation. Southern Germany should have had at least half of this list filled up.
Love WatchMojo but wow really gawd awful pronunciation of English counties and cities. Chelmsford… sounds nothing like Chelmsford.. oh my days that was off
"actual witches" mentions Salem as number one…
Before Christianity, magic was celebrated and respected. It was only after the spread of this 'Religion of peace' that magic began to be seen as evil. For a God of peace, this Jesus sure does demand an awfully large amount of blood.
just wrong
"More weight"
I guess was Salem 1
I knew that number one was the Salem triles
sad thing is witch hunting still happens
yet no one really talks about or addresses the persecution and discrimination witches and pagans face
Christianity is rooted in violence, hatred and intolerance. yet they have the gall to think their oppressed…..ya'll are the oppressors and are not even sorta oppressed or discriminated against
STOP MISPRONOUNCING CHELMSFORD!!
yeah witch hunters are effing crazy and psychotic
For those who blame religion for witch hunts as well as all the world's ills, I'd say just because something can be corrupted doesn't make it the source of everything that has gone wrong since the dawn of civilization. Everything beautiful and worthwhile can be corrupted from love to science to art.
People were pretty ignorant back in the 1600s
They were morons like all religious people are, but they could have come up with a rest that allowed the person to survive if they were innocent and die if they were a witch. Since it's all made up anyone, again much like religions are, they could have made up something benign to normal people but deadly to witches. Like a cross to vampires etc
Funny story. I'm from the town of New Salem, Massachusetts, which was founded after the Salem Witch Trials. The people who founded the town were from Salem, but left because they were sick of the witch burning bullsh*t.
And then there are some people who understand that witchhunt was just a means for a end… oh that family is getting rich, lets accuse all their women of witchcraft. It had nothing to do with religion, just power struggle, every means necessary to be the top dawg…
WHAT? EVEN DOGS? OH MY… WHY?
Christians are reason for hatred against religions.
Imagine if that logic exists today. It's snowing in my state(texas)! I blame this random chick! LOL
I just realized that logic still exists today (middle east)
please don't let Salem be first please don't let Salem be first please don't let Salem be first Oh God dammit.
Uggh religion can really cloud peoples' reasoning
fuck hardcore relligon
and all these atrocities were committed by crazy religious people all this just shows that the sooner we we've dumped religion out the door the better off we'll be
Lmao poor people back then we're just so nuts and dumbasses
Good, burn the witch, kill the occult. Defend God's Holy name.
How do I know if I'm a witch?
Actually, "chambre ardent" means very hot room (ardent can also mean passionate) not the burning court
CHelmcsford not Celmsford
You've mispronounced Chelmsford
How can the Salem witch trials possibly be number 1? It should be Number 10 at the most.
