The one that gave me nightmares as a kid isn't on here. It was the one where people were being skinned alive

If it wasn't for the X-Files, which was legitimate 'Must See' Television, and proved that audiences wanted proper 'Grown up' programming, then there would probably be no 'Walking Dead', 'Hannibal' 'Game Of Thrones' or even 'Supernatural'. Back in the 1990's, 'The X-Files' kicked the doors of what you could see on TV wide open – blood, guts, bodily fluids, autopsies, cannibalism, unflinching scenes of mutilation, deaths of favourite characters, etc., and those doors, thankfully, have never shut.
"Die hand die verletzt" is that really a german title?
Home was the first episode of X files I ever saw as a kid and what made me avoid the show like the plague, not enjoy 60s music, and always check my locks before going to bed. To this day I remember the scare when I was a kid after watching it.
Scenes like these are probably the reason why I couldn't get into the show the first time around.
And that's why I don't watch the X-files.

I'm gonna be upfront: I've never seen The X Files, and aside from one or two of these mentions, fully believed it to be just a campy 90's sci-fi romp.
Imagine my surprise when I find that this shit is a DAILY OCCURRENCE.
Why did I decide to watch this right before bed??
