These movies had so much potential. Whether people were anticipating these movies based on the source material, the plot, the actors, or the director, moviegoers expected much more from movies like The Last Airbender, Waterworld, Sucker Punch, Transcendence, Cowboys & Aliens, The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, Alien vs. Predator, Hancock, In Time, The Monuments Men – all of which showed promise but were executed poorly.

For this list, we’re taking a look at films that seemed like a great idea at the time, but didn’t quite pan out that way and the final big screen results ended up being less than stellar.

My wife and I both liked "In Time."
Well, some of those movies I thoroughly enjoyed them, such as Sucker Punch, The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen and definitely The Purge. I've seen worse. FAR worse. In fact, maybe 10.000 B.C and Clash of the Titans should be leading this list instead. They had really good concepts in mind, like a prehistoric epic and a Greek mythology centered action adventure flick, but ye gods, were those movies awful…
Now do one with the top 10 badly executed anime shows that had potential.
#1: Sword Art Online
"The Fall" should have been on this list also.
Number 1 should be the prequels lol soooo much potential and should be a better story than the original but no we got some of the worst movies of all time lol
The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen was a great film with great characters, I don't understand the hate!
Come on Transcendence and AvP are awesome!!!
Who writes this crap? The "Alien" creatures don't spit acid, it's their blood that's highly acidic.
Top 1 Badly Executed YouTube channels that had potential. WatchMojo.
only because most of the audiences dont understand it, doesnt mean it´s badly executed…. avp is far more better than ridley scott´s recent crap, the last 2 years mojo seems acting like kid who barely understands the movies it watches… and only praising what the majority claims to be good, e.g the dark knight trilogy the most stupid batman who´s supposed to outsmart everyone
good moviesbut dont call them batmanI loved Sucker Punch.
Watch mojo, you are all idiots. Hancock was the shiznit
you can say anything you want about AvP. its a terrible movie that disrespects everything people enjoy about the alien or predator franchise BUT it surely has no "distinctive lack of epic battles"
last airbender was white washed to hell.
Yeah these movies were garbage
Yes ur right watchmojo monuments men was so bad which is why it was nominated and won academy awards including being nominated for best pic…it was too deep for your little brains…do ur research
I think you forgot fire nation memes when listing what was good about the avatar
'In Time' did meet it's potential just not in this movie. The original concept they took the story from is called 'The Price of Life'. Filmed in 1987, it was included as an episode of American Playhouse in 1991. You can watch it here…
1: ever bad film ever.
Predator isn't totally invisible. He has a telltale shimmer.
I liked In Time
I'd have added "Lucy" on this list. ScarJo and Morgan Freeman in a sci-fi actioner? How could it miss, right? Well, it might have been when Lucy straight up murdered that cabbie, losing any sympathy points. Or it could have been the jump cuts to Morgan Freeman expositing our ears off like he was in a completely different movie. Whatever it was, about halfway through the movie, it just lost me. I could say the same about ScarJo in "Ghost in the Shell," but it's too soon for that movie to be on this list.
Hancock I thought was a great twist on superhero movies
HA! I liked most of those movies! Well….most of the 5-10 movies. AND JUMPER! Though…..largely because of Rachel Bilson.
