Both movies series are very good.
The worst movie in that series is the one with Walburg.
Can't wait to see the newest one.
The new one is better
I like how they don't even mention the 2001 remake
The new franchise is wayyy better
U know new franchise are prequels right? Think Star wars
Sad that we all forget about the Matt Damon Apes movie
Hey that's the nostalgia critics job to compare old vs new movie (franchises) not yours wm!
The only good movie from the original series is the first Planet of the Apes. The new series hasn't failed to deliver.
Never seen a single one but I'm about to watch rise. I hate how none of these things include the 2001 film. But like I said, I've never seen a single one before.
i think both franchises are equally good in different ways
DAMN YOU! GODDAMN YOU ALL TO HELL!!!!!
These Planet of Apes movies are better than the Mark Wahlberg version.
Has anyonew else notice that everyone of these ends at the same score
Let's be real, humans would beat apes in a fucking war. They don't have nukes or jets, but we do so oof to the apes.
I knew it the new franchise kicks ass it is way way better than the original franchise
give a thumbs up if you're ready for war of the Planet of the Apes I am pumped for this move
just finished the apes triple feature in theatres, perfect end to a perfect trilogy
New franchise is made by marketing manipulators preying on children – thus the CGI "reality" of "Babe Pig in the City" – and like all the Star Wars/Lord of the Rings are 'good vs. evil" children's fables. To read more into them is to argue the relevance of "Dora the Explorer" and all the Marvel Superhero nonsense. The 60's/70's franchise (with the exception of "Battle" admittedly made for kids) was an intelligent allegory of the social ills of that time made to appeal to the college age crowd – those involved in social change. 2001, Omega Man, Soylent Green, Blade Runner, Silent Running – films of that time – may have lacked big budget values, but didn't embarrass the viewer with lines like: "Ape,..good – Man bad!" . Those older films were made by artists trying something different. This new franchise is made by Focus Groups just plagiarizing the ol' plot, wasting millions on whinyh characters, endless chases, cliffhangers and keeping it all politically correct to not make ANY point at all. The goal; make alotta money by monopolizing the market. Like "Godzilla' and "Star Wars Rogue One" – this will be forgotten and not to be discussed once the $$$ to flood the market runs out. ("Avatar" – because of it's marketing campaign of $150 million – is the most successful film of all time. Does anyone think it's even "good" now?) I'm off to watch the original "Planet of the Apes", still being quoted 50 years later. Anyone ever quote Avatar?
definetly the new ones
Why are there so many hipsters thinking they're cool and edgy by saying the old one is "much better", or "a masterpiece"?
Holy shit, doing the triple feature was fucking worth it. Best trilogy ever
Wtf did watch mojo just compare African Americans to Apes?
The old movies didn't have the critics of they have now.
New ones crush the old
Sid the video lag for anyone else
While I think that overall the new series is better, it probably wouldn't exist with the original series. In a way, it's kind of unfair to compare the two. Keep in mind that the sequels in the original series were made on fairly small budgets. What has me coming back to them is the story that is told throughout the five movies. Critically, the newer movies are better received but the original series had a some solid sci-fi writing, even if it had the occasional plot hole here and there. Also, the original Apes series was really one of the first successful sci-fi movie series' that translated to merchandise- predating Star Wars. This doesn't mean the original series is better but these are thing to consider.
With the exception of the Tim Burton movie, I like all of the Apes movies and feel that it's one of the most underrated sci-fi franchises out there.
YOU MANIACS! YOU BLEW IT UP! GOD DAMN YOU! GOD DAMN YOU ALL TO HELL!
If you think Dawn is good, just wait for War
The first two and last 3 are the only one I cared for
I watched Rise in a high-school trip and it caught us all by surprise. The "NO" moment was chilling AF
Being 50 years old i have to go with the originals, i can't really connect with these new ones
Why are you afraid of calling them prequels?
Hey WatchMoJo, you blew it straight out of the starting gate. The actual first movie in the reboot franchise, the one that everyone forgets and rightfully so, was Mark Wahlburg repeating the future leap to the planet where the apes all talked and ruled everything. It was the second film which started the chronological storyline. Thankfully ignoring everything that happened in the first movie!
new franchise
Funny how they never once mention the 2001 Tim Burton movie, even to take shots at it for being the worst of them all.
OG For life
Q: how many apes are in a big town in the new franchise?
A: an army of apes
Planet of the rapes ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
new franchise is actually entertaining and not coma inducing
dude the original movie alone far surpasses anything the new movies have done. the new ones are great but are not nearly as thought provoking or meaningful as the first. hard to beat Rod Serling's writing (twilight zone guy, he wrote a lot of the early scripts)
Glory be to the Bomb, and to the Holy Fallout. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be. World without end. Amen.
how can you compare when you've only seen two movies of the new franchise so far?
After watching the new series, its painfull to watch the original series. I think im going to stick with the new one, mainly because it looks good, interesting and emotional at once.
This is the first video you finally do some RESEARCH
