you cant put the word viral in the title. thats not how it works
Viral?
The studios usually call ads like these "viral" videos.
Still pretty optimistic about Spike's adaptation of this.
well, this looks better than the trailer
I like the Original as my favorute movie. If tgis lets me down I might create this hotel and kidnap all of the creators of this movie.
huh ?
I was wondering if this was a remake….then I saw the dumplings, yep…
i know everyone probably saying this cause we're the only ones who care about this — WHYYY
Get your own idea for once, Hollywood!
No one gives a funk if it's a remake! As long as it's GOOD which this in deeds looks like it. Plus there are tens of millions of Americans who know nothing of Asian Cinema. So stop bitching.
Sharlto Copley. Who is fucking amazing.
5k views that shit went fucking viral
"R"ated "R" for "R"etarded "R"emake!!!
Did anyone else feel like the whole trailer was a rip off of Dexter's introduction?
So it's a remake of a japanese movie adaptation of a manga by the name "Old Boy".
You should give a fuck if it's a remake of an adaptation (Korean movie) to a source material (Japanese Manga). Why in the world would they almost page for page remake a stellar movie that is actually a pretty loosely based interpretation of a Manga? Why not be a bit original and base the movie more closely to the Manga. Or better yet interpret the Manga in a unique way instead of just borrowing shit from the Korean adaption… The movie looks redundant, not good… This is the problem.
So this is about a bell boy that wouldn't leave after the hotel closed down and tricked and trapped people in the abandoned hotel to still be able to serve them. Then when they ran out of tip money he would kill them for being ungracious.
5000 minds were destroyed making it a viral outbreak. If they had said epidemic there would have been more minds wiped off the map.
Once a thought thief always a thought thief.
I'll admit, I still sort of want to see this film (even though the studio screwed Spike Lee over by editing his 3-hour director's cut down to an hour and a half and condensing it's wide release down a limited release at the last minute), but I wish that rather than remaking the Korean film (which is my favorite film of all time), they had instead either done a direct adaptation of the Japanese manga (which is quite different from the Korean film) or just done their own take on the story. Â If for no other reason than the fact that the original is an expertly crafted thriller and is one of the most flawless films I've ever seen, and thus the remake was never going to quite be able to match it. Â I think it would have been interesting if the screenwriter instead took the set-up, and used it as a spring-board to come up with a more original tale.
Wtf is this…..
