Actors Who Actually Did It On Screen
10 Mysterious Photos With A Horrifying Backstory
Description:
One recent list covered here explored Hollywood’s long and rather sordid history with unsimulated hanky panky being featured on the big screen. The original list of actors to have actually done it on screen included the stars of major blockbuster series such as Twilight’s Robert Pattinson, Transformers’ Shia LaBoeuf and X-Men’s Halle Berry. It even included film legends like Donald Sutherland, Malcolm McDowell and Billy Bob Thornton, not to mention music icons Notorious B.I.G. and Marilyn Manson. Unsurprisingly, the works featuring real intercourse taking place came from the lens of avant garde filmmakers like John Waters and Lars von Trier, not to mention some self-indulging, power-abusing auteurs like Vincent Gallo.
In an era of celebrities who have grown more brand-minded and image-conscious, we are far more accustomed to stars more inclined to closing themselves off from the public rather than letting people in, and perhaps rightfully so amidst a time of TMZ-like exploitation. Still, with stories like a nude scene-refusing Jessica Alba and a public persona-controlling Will Smith serving as the norm, it is refreshing to see Hollywood talent that are willing to take a risk and try something unconventional. In order to find this, you typically have to move past the standard mainstream fare found at your local multiplex and venture into art houses that screen indie films armed with the freedom needed to try things that go against the grain.
There – and only there – will you find daring and dynamic artists like director Gaspar Noe, whose appetite for shocking and unconventional cinema took his lens into the literal depths of some rather uncharted terriroty in “Enter the Void”. Of course, it is those who willingly take part in the unconventional in front of the camera that assume the greatest risk, putting their reputation and livelihood on the line and exposing themselves – often literally – for what they believe is an essential addition to the artistic canon. Just ask Margo Stilley, who adamantly defended her role in Michael Winterbottom’s graphic English film “9 Songs” despite being fiercely rebuked by the UK press.
But for as long as there is an often rigid set of rules and expectations that govern what is deemed socially acceptable and proper, there will remain a counter cultural movement aimed at debunking these self-imposed societal restraints. And sure enough, this counter cultural presence is a formidable one. Or maybe there are just a lot of perverted minds in the film industry.
Even after delving through 10 instances of actors doing the deed on camera, there still remains a large cache of films in which real sexual activity was captured for a worldwide audience to see- whether they wanted to or not. Not only did the previous list omit some serious Hollywood heavyweights and rising young talents who have taken the method acting approach to intercourse, but there also remain some incredible stories to tell about the risks that certain thespians have taken and they hot water that their choices have ultimately put them in.
